End of Lot 119 in Troy for $850. House is still standing but extensively remodeled. As a side note, one of the "heirs" mentioned was the researcher's 4great grandmother. And to top it off, when John L. and Mary J. Carpenter sold the house 25 May 1878 for $1000, they sold it back to the researcher's 4great grandmother and husband, W. W. and A. Edge, who in turn, transferred it to her 3rd great-grandmother, Nancy Kimble. Small world, yes?

• Research Note

In a letter dated 17 Nov 1987, Harriet Beach told me she had visited the DAR Library in Washington and found a DAR application with 10 children listed for Robert and Sarah Carpenter Van Tine. She was unsure of Maria's information or name.

1800 Census for Robert Van Tine

10,000 Something or other for Eastern New York, #5799 Michael Mead md 6/24/1802 Elizabeth Van Tine, both of Pittstown, in P, Rev. Covell (source 9[Lansingburgh Gazette-Troy-1798/1803] 6/30); later there were land transactions with Michael Mead.

• Baptism 92, 1759 - , Brinkerhoffville Church, Dutchess, New York

• Alt Death, 1802 - , , Onondaga, New York

DAR Records, from Harriet Beach.

• Alt Death, 14 Jul 1814 - , Aurelius, Cayuga, New York

I had given this death date to the first son Robert, but on rechecking this family, it is probable that first son Robert died before the second son Robert F. was born. ERGO this death date is for Robert the father despite what the DAR records say that Robert died in 1802 in Onondaga Co, NY
