Hello, my name is Lois Petty. I found your information on the RootsWeb's World Connect Project.
George Brown b: 1 Feb 1770 in Ireland was my 3 greats grandfather. His wife was Jane McDowell.
Maria Elizabeth Tarrant b: 29 Sept 1806 in Bonsall, Derbyshire, England was my great, great grandmother. Her husband was George Brown Jr, b: cApril, 1797 in Ireland.
I have researched these lines extensively, but have not found the 1 Feb 1770 birthdate for George Brown Sr. or the 29 Sept 1806 birthdate for Maria Elizabeth Tarrant.
Could you please tell me the sources for these dates? Do you have any idea where in northern Ireland the Brown's came from. I believe the George Brown, wife and 7 children of Banbridge, County Down, who sailed on 2 Jan 1811 aboard the ship, Hannibal, from Belfast, Northern Ireland, bound for America is my family. But, I have not been successful locating them in Banbridge.
I will be most grateful for any information you can share with me and would be pleased to share anything I have that is useful to you.
Thank you.
Lois

This is all the information I have on Arabella Brown's family.
The parts of the journal which are different from the one reproduced
on your website are entries about John H. Van Tine's personal life,
and a little about each of his siblings. Since you (I think) are
decended from Samuel Van Tine, I will put that entry here:

"Samuel Van Tine born November 21st 1812
He went to New York when a young man. There he married Elizabeth Cobb
and lived most of his married life in Tremount or Morrisania. He was
a leading member in the Presbyterian Church in the above places and
superintendent of the Sunday school for many years. He died November
16th 1871 and was buried in St. Luke's Cemetery, Matteawan.
He left a wife, two sons and five daughters."

I don't know as anything I have will help anyone, but I am putting it
here just in case.
