Deceased Name: Howard L. "Lee' Garrett -- Field geologist, 77 Howard L. "Lee" Garrett, 77, of Houston, a retired field geologist, died Jan. 17 in Houston. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 1500 Ford St. Interment will be in Golden Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 8, 1924, in Porterville, Calif. On May 26, 1949, he married Henel Annabelle Crawford in Golden. She died June 7, 1996. On May 26, 1950, he graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a master of science degree. He worked for Shell Oil Co. for 34 years. He explored for oil, gas, water, coal, geothermal energy and minerals in the Rocky Mountains, Montana, the Great Basin, the Coast Range of California, the Appalachians, Syria, Paraguay, Brazil and Belize.

He is survived by a son, Charles M. "Matt," Golden.

I saw your posting on World Connect. I am a descendant of Aaron his second
wife, Agnes. I have a copy of the family bible (a cousin has the original
bible) showing Charity's last name as Van Tine. She died in Atlas, Genesee
County, Michigan on October 8, 1858. I don't know if this will help you, but
