Services For S. G. Fisher, Jr. This Afternoon

Funeral services for S. G. Fisher Jr., 37, of 1409 Olive Street, who died shortly before midnight Thursday, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Walnut Street Church of Christ. Mr. George F. Carter will officiate, assisted by Mr. Andy T. Ritchie of Searcy, Ark.

Burial will be in the Chapalwood Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be B.V. Matloc, H. R. Lucas, Vonie Haile, D. A. Shofner, Woody Bailey, and Robert Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Woodlin, Inc. and other friends.

Mr. Fisher died unexpectedly at his parents' home, 1408 Olive Street, after being released from a local hospital Thursday morning. Injured February 4th in an automobile collision on West Seventh Street, he appeared to be in a satisfactory condition when he left the hospital.

He was removed to his parents' home in order that they could take care of him while his wife, Evelyn, was at work. She is a secretary of the Four States Fair Association.

The tour [sic] of them spent the evening watching television and it was after he had retired for the night that he was fatally stricken. Efforts to save him by artificial respiration and oxygen failed. Death was attributed to a blood clot.

Mr. Fisher was born on November 17, 1922, in the house where he died. He had lived in Texarkana all of his life, and was a purchasing agent for Woodlin, Inc. He was a member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ and the Marine Reserves.

In addition to his wife and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Guthrie Fisher, Sr., he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Gregory Dozier, and a nephew, Stan Dozier, of Fort Worth.

Hi Carol,

Mary Ann's maiden name was Miles -- she died in Seymour, TX (Baylor County), in 1890 I believe, I will check my documentation. She is buried in the Seymour City Cemetery there. Joseph died in 1899 and is buried in Guthrie. He was born in Wythe County Virginia and was orphaned as a very young child -- both his parents died soon after his
birth. His dad was Joseph Davidson, and his mom as Jean ----. I found his parents out from an old will on file in Wythe County, VA. I've also found a very old letter from Joseph that is priceless.

It might be best to talk if you like. I
could call you one evening this week.

Steve Davidson
Brandon, Miss.

P.S. I'm descended from Rush's brother Morgan.
