BINGO! You found them! I know this is the right family because my grandmother left me a photo of two older women in the 1930s or so and on the back she wrote "Aunt Betty Bliss and Aunt Nealie Hinton, my father's sisters". Well, I did a little
tracking and found a marriage license in TX for Minerva Nealie Davidson and her husband Blevins Taylor Hinton (see 1900 Deaf Smith County page 11, Precinct 1). I think I found Betty Bliss somewhere, too, but don't have it in front of me. Also, grandma (Rush's sister) told me her father had brother named Jim and Ben (James and Benjamin). There had been some discussion about whether her father was Floyd or Rush Floyd, but there it is -- Rush F. Grandma's and Rush's sister was named Mary, maybe after their grandmother? I am excited to have this new info. Thanks so much for letting me know.... We will keep on the Davidson Trail. I will check out the link you sent. Research Note
Hi again Carol:
I found the reference to Minerva Nealie Davidson's marriage. It was May
14, 1884 in Seymore, Baylor County, TX. It was at www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/2959/Dtxmgs.html but I don't know if
that's still valid. I imagine you have seen the 1920 Beckham County OK
census which shows Rush Davidson living with his maternal aunt (Rebecca
Lee -- R.L. Thomas). When you get tired of looking at the Davidsons, let
me know and I'll send you what I have on Maggie's family, the Vance's.
They were in TX a long time, very early settlers. Also a big family and
very convoluted and interesting.
Yes, I believe Rush Floyd was quite a bit older than Maggie. I have a
picture of them together and he looks older.

Hello Carol: I am not positive of the name of your Rush's father. I have heard Rush Floyd Davidson, Floyd Davidson, and Rush Davidson. If you have any info about him, please let me know. I didn't realize my great uncle Rush (b. 1899 or so) was married twice and had two families. I do know that he and his first wife were both alcoholics and lost custody or abandoned their 3 children: Rush, Sam, and a daughter whose name escapes me right now. I recently found and got in touch with Sam's family, who live in Iowa now. He had 5 children. It is an interesting family with a lot of twists and turns. I have quite a bit of info on your Rush's mother: Maggie Vance, and her family. Let me know if you need any info about them. I would love to know if you've heard anything about your Rush's father. He is the elusive one.....
Thanks.

The first obvious problem is that Daisy is not listed. There is only one child born, one living. Daisy was born 12 Jun 1900 according to family record. The census was taken two weeks later. The most probable explanation is that the census date is wrong. However, it is entirely possible that this is a completely wrong family. I don't think so... but there you have it.

Hi Carol,
Thanks for the quick reply. Rush was born in Herford, TX and later lived in Beckham county, OK. He did indeed work for the railroad, and I just found out that he died in Newton,KS May 24, 1951 of a heart attack. He was there as part of his railroad work. He was brought back and buried in Elk City, OK. The funeral was held at the Tims funeral chapel in Altus. That's where I am at right now. I still have nothing on his second wife Edna Pearl Uptegrove, except for the fact that she died sometime in the early 40's. I'll keep digging. Keep me posted if you come across any new developments, and I will do likewise.
Thanks Again,

Hi Carol,
I saw your posting on Rush M Davidson, and very much wanted to follow up on this information. I believe he is the same Rush M Davidson whose 2nd marriage was to Edna Pearl Uptegrove. I was hoping maybe you had some more information on him for me. I'm mainly looking for when he died and where. Anything else you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
