This house was built in 1851, so those Turners that still lived here before emigrating would have lived in this house. I have been in contact with the current owners, whose grandfather purchased it in 1914.
Part of the barn probably dates from 1851 as well. You can see the stenmur or stonepile. All of Småland is very rocky. Our family must have been happy to find such good farmland in southeastern Minnesota with not nearly as many rocks.
The linbasta where flax was fired and dried before making it into thread for weaving clothes.
Yet more rocks. An old milestone that seems to be dated 1828.
