Our Visit to Bloomingdale Cemetery, Parke County, IN
Listing of Rubottoms and Allied Family Members

In 1992 Mark and I visited Parke County, IN and stopped by Bloomingdale Cemetery. The following are listings of inscribed tombstones that we transcribed while there. This list does not include all of the tombstones in the cemetery. It is fairly large! But it does represent the Rubottoms and allied family members that we could quickly recognize. They are listed in the order we recorded them. They are not necessarily adjacent, but the ones with same last names tended to be grouped together.

There is a large area in the back of the cemetery with many unmarked graves. I assume these were early Quaker burial locations. In the early 1800's, the Quakers did not believe in any kind of grave marking or ornamentation. I believe that our Simon and Elizabeth Dunn Rubottom are buried in this area.

If you correlate this list with the other Bloomingdale Cemetery listing, you will find additional information. The two tend to compliment each other. Also, there are persons listed in this listing that are not found on the other list, and vice versa.
