This Indenture made this Seventh Day of June One thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Between Thomas Rubottom of the one part of the County of Chatham and State of North Carolina and James Underwood of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the Said Thomas Rubottom for and in Consideration of one nunder and Eighty pounds current money of the State aforesaid to him in hand paid by th Said James Underwood the receipt whereof the sd Thomas Rubottom doth hereby acknowledge Hath given granted Bargained and sold and by these presence doth give grant bargain and sell and confirm to him the said James Underwood one certain Tract or parcel of Land Containing two Hundred and twenty four acres lying being and situate on the waters of Little Brush Creek in the County of Chatham aforesaid Beginning in Hugh Moffetts Corner at White Oak running West twenty pole to a Hickory thence South twenty pole to a Balck Oak thence south fifty five Degrees East one hundred and Sixty eight pole with Hadleys line to a Black Oak thence East one hundred and thirty pole to a Hickory thence North one and Seventy pole to a Black Oak on Hugh Moffetts line thence West two hundred and forty five pole with said line to the place of Beginning with all and singular the privileges and appurtenances to him the Said James Underwood his heirs and assigns forever. To have and to hold the same with every part and parcel thereof to him the Said James Underwood his heirs and assigns forever to have hold use Occupy possess and enjoy the same with every part and parcel thereof to him the Said James Underwood his heirs or assigns Executors, Adminstrators and Against the ____ of Any person or persons Claiming the Same under him and Also A: of the Said Thomas Rubottom hath hereunto Set his hand and affixed his Seal the day and year first above written.
