Rockville Tribune

Thursday, January 24, 1884

Bloomingdale

From the Friends Church, on Saturday, occurred the funeral of Mrs. Milton Rubottom of this place. The deceased was 53 years of age and an earnest Christian lady. Her death was caused by cancer in her breast. Many of her friends wish to give an expression of tribute, illustrative of her amiable character, and truly Christian virtues during many years, which they were prevented from doing publicly, owing to the length of the funeral sermon.

The funeral of Mrs. Milton Rubottom took place on Saturday last. Services were held at Friends Church, at which time it was announced by E. C. Siler that "she died January 17, aged 53 years and 3 months, that she was naturally of robust constitution, and it was left for that terrible disease, cancer, to destroy her body. Her disease began in violent form, about the first of last September." She was a good Christian woman. She was a sister of Edith Stafford and John Newlin, Sr. of Marshall.
