Obituary of Norman G. Rubottom, son of Lester Asa and Cloa Belle Cooper Rubottom

Norman G. Rubottom, 84, of Woodston, passed away Monday, August 3, 1998, at the Osborne County Memorial Hospital in Osborne.
He was born September 27, 1913 on the family homestead south of Woodston, the son of Lester A. and Cloa Belle (Cooper) Rubottom. He graduated from the Woodston Rural High School in 1932.
He married Bernice L. Worden on May 1, 1937 in Alton. They continued farming and ranching south of Woodston until moving into Woodston in 1994. He was a member of Paradise Lodge #290 in Plainville.
Survivors include his wife Bernice of the home; two sons, Gorman, Stockton, and Darrell, Woodston; a daughter, Cheryll Mertz, Downs; sister Mildred Unruh, Greensburg; eight grandchildren, 7great-grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gordon Rubottom; and one sister, Marguerite Shepard.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 a.m., at the Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home in Stockton with Reverend Tim Ault-Duell officiating.
Masonic graveside services will be in the Woodston Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Norman G. Rubottom Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
