| RUSSELL COUNTY | Special Collection Department, Samford University Library, Birmingham AL Death of Rev. David ELKINS, Concord Church On 10th October last, our beloved and much esteemed brother - an old veteran of the cross minister of the Gospel. He was severely afflicted with Palsy - the circumstances connected to his affliction and death were distressing; his tongue was also palsied, and he could not speak a word for several days before his death. He was very unassuming in his manner and did not think more of himself than he ought to think, but esteemed others as being better than himself. If he ever erred it was the error of a noble nature which preferred to sacrifice its own interest rather than others. Signed, DAVIS STRINGER, JAMES M. BENNETT, Committee |
