Ann Sisson (1672-1749) is reported to have married on June 18, 1698, but since this is the date her sister died, it is questionable. She did marry Philip Weeden.  Their two children were Sarah and Philip Weeden.

"A Genealogical Dictionary of the First Settlers of New England, Before 1692", by James Savage, gives Ann's birthdate as 17 February 1672.

12. Richard SISSON (George , Richard ) was born 10 Sep 1676 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. He died 1752 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island.

Richard Sisson was a Quaker and a farmer.  He inherited the homestead in Portsmouth from his father, and a sheep's earmark from his grandfather Richard: "hind gad on each ear and half-penny under left ear."  He was declared freeman May 4, 1703.  His will dated April 16, 1750, proved July 13, 1752, mentions son George executor, wife Elizabeth, sons Richard, John, and Isaac, daughters Jane, Anne, and Elizabeth, granddaughter Ruth (Joseph's), and three grandsons, Christopher, Thomas and Isaac Sherman. Thomas Sisson was admitted a freeman in Newport, RI, May 1714, the year of his marriage to Jane Freeman.  His will was written May 3, 1758, proved August 1, 1775.  It mentions his wife Jane and five children. Some sources call him "Thomas Lawton Sisson", but an original record for the middle name has not been located.

Thomas married Jane FREEMAN, daughter of William FREEMAN, in 1714 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. Jane was born 1690 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. She died after 31 May 1758 in Westerly, Washington Co., Rhode Island.

Jane (Freeman) Sisson is reported by the Sisson Newsletter to have died in 1758 (after May 31, according to Carol Clark Johnson's "Fullers, Sissons, and Scotts"), but she had certainly died by the time of Thomas Lawton Sisson's death in July 1775. Various sources say Jane was the daughter of William Freeman; or the daughter of Josiah Card. Tim Sisson transcribed a "spiral chart" constructed by Henrietta Sisson, sister of Sivert Ulness Sisson, which chart maintains that Jane Freeman Sisson lived at Westerly, Rhode Island.

17. John SISSON (George , Richard ) was born 26 Jun 1688 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. He died 1784 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.

John Sisson was a selectman and tax assessor and was imprisoned in Bristol in 1722 for protesting taxes. He inherited land and a house at Tiverton, and was a selectman and a tax assessor.  He was one of the tax assessors who refused to collect the tax imposed by the General Court.  In 1722, he was imprisoned in Bristol, for protesting taxes.

John married (1) Jane PEABODY before 1714 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. Jane was born 1691 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. She died 1 May 1714 in Middletown, Newport Co., Rhode Island and was buried in Peabody Lot, Middletown, Rhode Island.

Jane Peabody Sisson is buried in the Peabody Lot, Middletown, Rhode Island, Green End Avenue at Third Beach Road. Mary Jo (Sisson) March's research report: "I recently submitted information as to the location of Jane Sisson's burial site in Middletown. At the time, I only knew she was the wife of a John Sisson. After doing some researching, I now know who he was. He was the son of George Sisson & Sarah Lawton Sisson, in fact he was John Sisson(3). After checking my records I found that I had the information concerning John & Jane (Peabody) Sisson. She was his 1st wife, & he md. Rebecca Lawton as his 2d wife.  As you can see from the burial record Jane died in her early 20's.  She was a Peabody, as I had thought probable, that is why she is buried in the Peabody cemetery.  For anyone interested in the Peabody family I will type in here a bit of information they might want.  "Grave #3 reported to be the burial site of John Peabody (original settler),  who died in 1687.  The inscription on this rude stone is hand carved."  Since this was such an old record, I thought I should it include it here. 18. James SISSON (George , Richard ) was born 26 Jul 1690 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. He died 14 Oct 1776 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island.

James Sisson was born in Portsmouth, RI, and also lived in Richmond and Tiverton. James was admitted freeman by the Rhode Island General Assembly in May 1714. He inherited land at Portsmouth and was given responsibility for the family cemetery and his father's aged Negro servant Abraham and his wife Lucy. He inherited land from his brother Richard and was appointed guardian of John, Joseph, and James, the minor children of his son Joseph in 1757. His will was dated March 23, 1775, and proved October 14, 1776.

James married Deborah COOK, daughter of Joseph COOK and Susanna BRIGGS, in 1712 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. Deborah was born 5 May 1692 in Tiverton, Newport Co., Rhode Island. She died after Apr 1750.
