We need to search the records for Cuyahoga Co, Ohio, for a death record. Carol has obituaries for Elizabeth (Warren) Sisson and for Minnie (Swett) Sisson which seem to promise many more descendants.

Oscar enlisted in 1861 in the 8th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry and served two years. He transfered to Company A, Second US Heavy Artillery, and served five more years.

Olen enlisted in the Second Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry and served the last year of the Civil War. According to Nina Sisson, "Olonzo George Sisson, b 1841, died 1919, married and had two sons." A son Frederick has also been reported.

An Olen G. Sisson enlisted in Company B, 2nd Cavalry Regiment Wisconsin.

3706. Oree Augustus SISSON (George , Augustus , Nathan , William , Thomas , George , Richard ) was born 13 Apr 1844 in Sissons Corner, Geauga Co., Ohio. He died 30 Jan 1908 in Mindoro, La Crosse Co., Wisconsin and was buried in Farmington Cemetery, La Crosse Co., Wisconsin.

Oree was born, according to Lee Sisson as written 23 Sep 1980, "in Clarindon, Caugauga Co., Ohio, near Painesville, where Cecil Sisson lives now." Oree enlisted in Company B, Second Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry (or Cavalry Regiment) and served till the close of the Civil War. He was a member of the Methodist-Episcopal Church. He was in 1866 town constable in LaCrosse County, Wisconsin, a hotel proprietor, a store keeper, and a farmer. In 1875, 1876, and 1881 he was town constable in LaCrosse County, Wisconsin. He lived in Geauga County, Ohio, Walworth County, Wisconsin, LaCross County, Wisconsin, and Redfield, South Dakota. He died of apoplexy.

A deed for an Oree A. Sisson is recorded in California, Mount Diablo meridian, township 0030S, range 0010W, section 006, document ID #959, date April 15, 1880.

Oree married Sarah Augusta ARNOLD, daughter of John Franklin ARNOLD and Ruth BROWN, on 19 Mar 1868 in Clarendon, New York. Sarah was born 24 Jun 1845 in Butternuts, Otsego Co., New York. She died 30 Nov 1927 in near Aladdin, Crook Co., Wyoming and was buried in Farmington Cemetery, West Salem, La Crosse Co., Wisconsin.

Sarah died on Clear View Ranch, Crook County, Wyoming, of lobar pneumonia.

Alonzo married Mary Jane CHISHOLM, daughter of James CHISHOLM. Mary was born 1850 in Beaver Dam, Dodge Co., Wisconsin.
