Isaac Sisson was a blacksmith. Isaac and his wife Emily are listed in the Tecumseh, Lenawee County, Michigan, 1850 census p 116 with Alpheus Sterns (perhaps the husband of his sister Susan).

Isaac and Emily are listed in the 1860 census of Tecumseh, Lenawee County, MI, household #742/748, with their two daughters; Isaac's nephew Charles Sisson; and William Niblick, age 14, possibly son of Sylvenus H. Niblack and Margaret Unknown.

Isaac married Emily. Emily was born about 1832 in New York State.

Thomas Sisson, Jr., son of Thomas and Hannah (Brown) Sisson, is probably the Thomas Sisson who married Mary M. Scribner. Thomas was a farmer. He was crushed to death between falling limbs while cutting a tree. (__?__) had a son, probably the Lamar Sisson born in Michigan who died May 24, 1873, age 10 years, 10 months, in Clinton, Lenawee County, Michigan. Anne married Angus Peter MCDONALD on 16 Dec 1840 in Will Co., IL. Angus was born 1813 in Canada. He died 22 Jan 1876 in Toronto, Municipality of York, Ontario, Canada.

4432. Harriet Ellen SISSON (Holder , Philip , Philip , Thomas , Richard , James , Richard ) was born 14 Mar 1824 in Terre Haute, Vigo Co., Indiana. She died 24 May 1916 in Waterloo, Black Hawk Co., Iowa and was buried 27 May 1916 in Union Cemetery, Humboldt, Humboldt Co., Iowa.

According to an article "Waterloo Lady Mother of 15" dated Marshalltown, Iowa, Jan 9, [what year?] Harriet Ellen Sisson Lyon and her husband lived in Iowa as man and wife for sixty-five years. had fifteen children, 59 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. She was born either in Vincennes or Evansville, Indiana. Her death certificate gives her birthdate as 14 March, 1824 (rather than 1822) and her death date as 24 May, 1916. Milford Hall Lyon was the youngest of fifteen children born to Harriet Ellen (Sisson) and Edmund Burke Lyon. He was born "just a few months before his mother celebrated her fiftieth birthday anniversary" which was in 1822 or 1824 according to other sources. She would have been fifty in 1872 or 1874 but Milford was born in 1868. According to her obituary, Ellen was born near Evansville, Indiana, on the banks of the Wabash March 14, 1824, which also credits her with fourteen children. She spent her girlhood on a farm near Lockport, Illinois. Soon after he marriage she and Edmund settled in Clayton County, Iowa.

Harriet married Edmond Burke LYON, son of Rev. Richard LYON and Mary Emmaline MURCH, on 18 Mar 1843 in Prairie du Chien, Crawford Co., Wisconsin. Edmond was born 12 Feb 1818 in Camden, Camden Co., New Jersey. He died 8 Sep 1903 in Wheaton, DuPage Co., Illinois and was buried 10 Sep 1903 in Union Cem., Humboldt, Humboldt Co., Iowa.

Edmund Burke Lyon has been reported born 10 or 12 February 1818 in Princeton or Camden, New Jersey. He went out to Michigan when a youth of 18, from his native New Jersey to Warrensburg, Pa., to Niles, Michigan, and from there to Fort Wayne, Indiana, and on to "the wilderness of Iowa." In 1837 he "landed at Dubuque on a hunting trip with Mr Jett, an Indian commissioner, who died and was succeeded by Lyon. As commissioner Lyon made several peace missions to Indian tribes that were inclined to hostility." He settled in Northwestern Iowa in 1842. He was of LaPorte City, Iowa when he married Harriet Ellen Sisson in 1843. Edmund Burke Lyon was the first sheriff of Clayton county. He was buried next to A.A. Bravinder, his daughter Lucy Anna's husband.

Clarissa "Clara Louisa" married George Aylwin of Toronto, Canada, a member of the Canadian Parliament, as reported by Jean Bellinger in the Sisson Newsletter, Summer 1999, v 13, no 3. It has also been reported in "Patriots and Biographical Records of Kane and Kendall Counties, Illinois," Beers, Leggett and Company, 1888, that she married Mr. McDonald, a member of the Canadian Parliament (but see her sister Anna). See also Clarissa Sisson's older sister Anna, who married a Mr. "M. G. Donald" which could easily be mistaken for "McDonald." Philip's descendant, Philip Tripp Sprague, wrote that Philip Sisson Tripp had been married four times.
