A biography of Philip Frank Sisson was published in the book "Initial Ithicans comprising sketches and portraits of the forty-four presidents of the village of Ithaca (1821 to 1888) and the first eight mayors of the city of Ithica (1888 to 1903)" by Thomas W. Burns (1904). P. Frank Sisson was the thirty-ninth president of Ithaca (elected 1881).
