Myrta's marriage contract to Oren was taken out on Dec. 1, 1892, and filed on Dec. 10, 1892. Oren was listed as a sawyer on the contract. His father opened a sawmill in Green County, WI, after the Civil War.

Myrta married (1) Oren Ashford RHOADES, son of Perry Mathias RHOADES and Julia TRICKLE, on 1 Dec 1892 in Green Co., WI. The marriage ended in divorce. Oren was born 20 Mar 1871 in Sheldon, CA. He died 29 Nov 1917 in Black River, Green Co., Wisconsin and was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Green Co., Wisconsin.

Oren Rhoades was a sawyer. He drowned under the ice attempting to cross the frozen Black River in Green County, Wisconsin, on Thanksgiving in 1917.

From "Who's Who in Kern County, 1939" (pub. by Wilson & Peterson, 1940) [thanks to Colleen for transcribing]: Clinton was educated in the elementary and high schools of Oline [transcriber's note: probably Olinda, now Yorba Linda], Orange County, CA. He homesteaded in the Wheeler Ridge district, Kern County, in 1895. He located at Wildwood, Kern County, in 1898 and engaged in land and water development and in farming, stock raising, and dairying, on this property. He was active in agriculture, business, and civic affairs of Kern County since 1895. He was the first secretary of the Buttonwillow Grange, 1934-35 and was a member of the Advisory Board of the Kern County Chamber of Commerce. He was one of the organizers and was second President of the Buttonwillow Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Wasco Union High School Board of Trustees 1917-21, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Wildwood School District. In 1924 he was Foreman of the Kern County Grand Jury. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading.

Lurlie and Stella Mae were sisters and Charlotte Owens was Lurlie's grand-niece.

Lurlie married (1) Wallace Harry TAUNT on 2 Apr 1907 in Bakersfield, Kern Co., California. Wallace died 24 Dec 1921.

Lurlie also married (2) Frank Sherman BOYLE on 6 Sep 1922 in New York City. Frank died 1939.
