In the 1900 Randolph County, Arkansas, census, Benjamin Franklin Sisson, Jr's birthdate is given as June 1867 and his age as 32 as of June 23, 1900. So his actual birthdate is narrowed to the last week of June. He moved at some point from Indiana to Randolph County, Arkansas. He and his second wife Evelyn "Sudie" Holmes were local reporters for the Star Herald newspaper of Randolph County, Arkansas, and they were both teachers. Benjamin was also a farmer. B.F. Sisson "of Noland" survived his mother who died in 1921. Benjamin Franklin Sisson's obituary appeared in the Nov. 13, 1952, issue of the Pocahontas Star Herald newspaper. From his obituary: B.F. Sisson, aged 85, one of Randolph County's oldest and best known citizens, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Ella White, in Kennett, Mo., Saturday, following a stroke and complications. Mr Sisson was born at Vincennes, Ind., a son of the late Mr and Mrs Bill Sisson. He moved to the Noland community, in this county, many years ago and for a long period he was one of the county's outstanding school teachers. He had also been engaged in farming but had retired a few years ago. His wife, Mrs. Evelyn Sisson, who was also a well known rural teacher, died last spring. Bot Mr. and Mrs. Sisson had long been reporters from the community to the Star Herald. Funeral services were conducted at the Noland church of Christ at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon by Bro. A.B. Shaver. Interment was in the Chesser cemetery under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home. He leaves three sons, Noble Sisson of Kennett, Edgar Sisson of Bennington, Kansas, and Elmer Sisson of St Louis; two daughters, Mrs White of Kennett and Mrs Bessie Ward of Tulsa, Ok; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. His (2nd) wife Evelyn had died earlier the same year.

Benjamin married (1) Louisa Jane REED "Lula/Luly", daughter of James REED and Mary Elizabeth SISSON. Lula/Luly was born 29 Dec 1867. She died 12 Mar 1904 in Randolph Co., Arkansas and was buried in Sanders Cem, Randolph C., Arkansas.

Harry M. SISSON was born 17 Nov 1905 in Pocahontas, Randolph Co., Arkansas. He died Nov 1975 in Lafayette, Louisiana and was buried in Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum, Opelousas, Louisiana.

Harry Sisson' obituary was printed in the Pocahontas Star Herald, Randolph County, Arkansas. Carol Sisson Regehr's copy was not dated. Quoting:

Funeral services were held Monday at 9:00 a.m., at the Delhomme Funeral Home Cahpel of the Flowers for Harry M. Sisson, 69, who died Saturday at the Lafayette, La., General Hospital, following an extended illness. Bob Walton, minister of the South College Church of Christ, conducted the services. Interment was in the Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum in Opelousas, La. Mr. Sisson was a native of Pocahontas, a son of the late John Sisson and Jennie Crockett. He had resided in Lafayette the past 12 years. He was retired at the time of death, having retired in 1962 from Slemco, where he had been employed over 20 years. Survivors include his wife, the former Octavie Bernard of Lafayette; two half-sisters, Mrs. Lula Collins and Mrs. Frankie Oglesby, both of Pocahontas; a brother, Bennie Sisson of Pocahontas; several nieces and nephews.

David H. Sisson was born 31 Jan 1879, though the Social Security Death index has his birthdate as 31 Jan 1882, but the Randolph County, Arkansas, marriage records indicate he was 21 in 1900. His son Albert also gave his birthdate as in 1879. Sources: letter from Albert Franklin Sisson to Edgar Oscar Sisson; marriage records of Randolph County, Arkansas; SSDI. "D.H. Sisson of Salina, Kans." survived his mother who died in 1921. Tim Sisson's "spiral chart" gives David's city as Burtonville, Maryland.

Albert F. Sisson lived in Bennington, Kansas, as a boy. He was a government lawyer, taught medical jurisprudence at Southeastern University, and Disability Evaluation at American University, both in Washington, DC. He had a chiropractic degree.

His publications include "The Unabridged Crossword Puzzle Word Finder"; "The History of Veterans' Pensions and Related Benefits"; and "Sisson's Word and Expression Locator."

Almus "Al" and his brother Harold sang country/western music under the name "Ozark Mountaineers."

Almus was counted in the 1930 census three times: twice in Saline County, Kansas, in his father's household and in a railroad workers' camp; and in the household of August Bottom in Multnomah, Oregon, said to be his "brother-in-law" but more likely his stepfather.
