James Sisson was a good hardworking man.  He lost his farm in Shamrock, Oklahoma in the depression and my mom (a baby) and grandparents had to move to California, where grandpa worked as a foreman for an orchardist (classic Grapes of Wrath story). My mom, born much later than her siblings, grew up in California and moved to Tacoma, Washington when she was 18.  She had come up with her parents to visit my Uncle Bill (who later returned to California).  Mom stayed, and married my dad, when she was 21

James married Etta Mandena YOTTER in BET. 1905 - 1906. Etta was born 21 Nov 1887 in Luther, OK. She died from Heart failure.

6971. Samuel SISSON (William S. , Daniel H. , Daniel , Nathaniel , William , Jonathan , James , Richard ) was born 12 Oct 1886 in Iowa. He died 17 May 1938 in Cushing, Oklahoma from Stomach cnacer at age 51 and was buried in Stroud Okalhoma.

Sam was the superintendent of the Deep Rock Gasoline Plant at Shamrock Oklahoma where the children lived their childhood. Samuel is buried in Stroud, Oklahoma.

Jerome may have been born in 1898. A grandson of Jerome's sister Sadie says he knew Jerome (called Rome) and that he stabbed a man in a bar fight, killed him, and served a sentence in the penitentiary. He was an excellent artist and painted portraits, one of the daughter of one of the guards.
