Mary married Lemuel MILK on 17 Dec 1767 in Dartmourth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. Lemuel was born about 1750. He died 18 Jan 1820 in Westport, MA. For information on this family, please see _History and Genealogy of the MILK-MILKS Family_, by Grace Croft, updated by Robert Yorks. Lemuel kept an inn at the head of the Wesport River.

Source: Dartmouth VRs. William was a blacksmith and stock raiser in Cayuga County, NY. He and his wife Mary Hathaway had 7 children.

Elizabeth married Thomas HOWLAND Jr., son of Thomas HOWLAND and Ruth WING, on 14 Oct 1773 in Westport, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. Thomas was born 25 Mar 1748 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. He died 25 Mar 1823 in Westport, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.

515. Nathaniel SISSON (William , Jonathan , James , Richard ) was born 11 Jul 1756 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. He died 10 May 1840 in Glenns Falls, Warren Co., New York and was buried in Friends Cemetery, Glenns Falls, New York. Nathaniel Sisson (according to a biography of his great-grandson Albert Elverton Sisson published in "A Twentieth Century History of Erie County, Pennsylvania," vol II, p 721) "died at Queenstown, NY." The Sisson Newsletter reports his place of death as Glenns Falls, Warren Co., New York. "First Families of America" (p 419) calls him "a Quaker, of Dartmouth, Massachusetts," and says he "removed to Nine Partners, Dutchess Co., NY, 1781, thence to Queensbury, Washington Co., NY, 1783." According to records of the Ninepartners Monthly Meeting, Dutchess County, New York, Nathaneil, Grace, and daughter Content removed from Ninepartners to Saratoga [New York] on 16 of "7m" [September] 1783.

Nathaniel married Grace GIFFORD, daughter of Benjamin GIFFORD and Ruth WHITTEN, on 2 Feb 1781 in Dartmouth, Bristol, Massachusetts. Grace was born 16 Sep 1761 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. She died 4 Sep 1843 in Glenns Falls, Warren Co., New York.

516. William SISSON Jr. (William , Jonathan , James , Richard ) was born about 1758 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. He died before 1840. William has been reported to have married Sylvia Allen; Ruth (Perkins) Boomer; and Sarah Cook. Zelma Anderson says that William was "of Dartmouth and Westport" when Sarah Cook and he were married in 1804. William is listed in the 1830 census in Collins, Erie CO., NY, age 70-79.

William also married (3) Sarah COOK, daughter of Thomas COOK and Mary PERRY, in 1804. Sarah was born 1783. She died 1823/1824. I am looking for one of my great grandmother's daughters, a young lady Sisson -- her name might have been Sarah or Eliza Sisson born about 1805 or 1810.  She was a daughter of Sarah (Cook) Sisson and William Sisson. William was of Dartmouth, Massachusetts. I have confirmation of William and Sarah's marriage and know that my William was born 1819 in Tiverton, RI, had two older sisters, one who died about 1840 and another who married and went to Texas with her husband. She married from Fall River, Massachusetts, or Tiverton, Rhoe Island, and moved with her husband to Texas.  Sarah was alone in Troy (Fall River), Massachusetts, in 1820. Sarah's mother was Mary (Perry) Cook. Mary's will says that Mary "had done all she was going to do for Sarah Sisson and children.  Thanks, Zelma Anderson  "

520. Silvanus SISSON (Jonathan , Jonathan , James , Richard ) was born 27 Jul 1749 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. He died 26 Nov 1780 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.

Silvanus married Meribah POTTER, daughter of Stoughton POTTER and Ruth, on 28 Jan 1776. Meribah was born 1756. She died 1780.

They had the following children:

	1202	M	ii	Leonard SISSON was born 1780 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. It is not certainly known who Leonard Sisson's parents were. Sylvanus Sisson and his wife Meribah (Potter) Sisson were in the right place at the right time, but only that circumstantial evidence exists to tie them to Leonard.

526. Jonathan SISSON III (Jonathan , Jonathan , James , Richard ) was born 27 Apr 1764 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. He died about 1842 in Ledyard, Cayuga Co., New York. E. Howland's "Historical Sketch of Friends in Cayuga County, NY, 1795 to 1828" says that Jonathan and Edith Sisson were received from Dartmouth in 1813.

Jonathan married Edith Eady GIFFORD, daughter of Elijah GIFFORD and Deborah WILBUR, on 27 Feb 1796 in Westport, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. Edith was born 27 Apr 1766 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. She died 10 Aug 1818.

They had the following children:

527. Gideon SISSON (Jonathan , Jonathan , James , Richard ) was born 27 Jul 1766 in Westport, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. He died in Friendship, Allegany Co., New York. Gideon married twice and David and Joan Sisson do not know which wife was the mother of which children. I have listed them with Gideon and Phebe, but some or all of them may belong with Susannah. Gideon lived in Saratoga, NY, in 1801 and in Otsego, NY, in 1817. His will was signed June 19, 1823 and proved January 10, 1924 in Friendship, Allegheny County, NY. The will names "wife Susan; eldest son Pardon, daughters Roba and Mariba, son David, daughters Phebe, Eliza and Sally, three younger sons, Oren, Nelson, and Gideon. Five dollars to each child down to Phebe, then 100 dollars to the support of each thereafter. Witnesses John and Joseph Utter and Sylvanus Merriman, esecutor Susannah." The Unadilla, Otsego County, New York, 1850 census lists Renjamin M. Wales, 39, farmer, $3300, b. Mass; Sally, 32, b. NY; Nelson, 11, b. VT; Charles B., 5, b. VT; Hiram S., 1, b. NY; Eliza I., 18 [8?], b. VT; Elisa B. Sisson, 36, b. NY; Joseph Wyman, 21, farmer, b. NY. Could this data apply to Eliza and Sally, daughters of Gideon?

Gideon married (1) Phebe ALLEN on 2 Sep 1787 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. Phebe was born about 1767. She died about 1800.

David married (1) Nancy HOWLAND, daughter of Prince HOWLAND and Phebe TRIPP, on 22 Feb 1801 in Westport, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. Nancy was born 14 Jul 1771. She died 11 Jul 1818 in Westport, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. Nancy Howland is reported in Jonathan's Book of Death and Ages as born July 13, 1771; in the Howland genealogy as born July 12, 1778. Nancy Howland and Penelope Howland, David's wives, were sisters.

543. Mary SISSON [scrapbook] (John , Jonathan , James , Richard ) was born 30 Jun 1763 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. She died Mar 1837 in Grafton, OH. Mary Sisson Thompson's death date of 1837 is confirmed on her grave marker. This Mary has been confused with another Mary Sisson who died in 1855. The Mary Sisson who died in 1855 was married to Benjamin Fuller. Her parents are uncertain, and she has been attached to several different sets of parents by different researchers. She appears in the 1850 census of Freetown, Cortland Co., NY, p. 240.

Mary married Dr. Joseph THOMPSON [scrapbook]. Joseph was born 1760. He died 8 Nov 1837 in Grafton, OH.
