Ruth married Humphrey LAPHAM, son of Nicholas Lapham LAPHAM and Mary HART, on 27 Jul 1786 in Dartmourth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. Humphrey was born 4 Feb 1760 in Dartmourth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. He died before 4 Apr 1837.

On April 4, 1837, Barrett Beard was appointed administrator of the estate of Humphrey Latham, late of Dartmouth. After debts and expenses were paid, the remainder of the estate was divided among the following: Joseph Lapham, Hannah Beard, Humphrey Latham, Oliver Lapham, Judith Stukeley, Nicholas Lapham, Ruth Kelley, and the heirs of Elizabeth Peckham. Son Humphrey Lapham once lived in Cayuga Co., NY. Robert Allen of New Bedford, MA was guardian of Humphrey's children, minors under 14, dated Dighton MA on 5 June 1832.

Richmond and Elizabeth were married by Robert Lawton, Asst. In civil court records in Portsmouth in September 1770 Richmond is listed as a butcher. In September 1783 his daughter Elizabeth sued him and his son-in-law Robert Carr for a debt she alledged they owed her; the court decided in favor of Elizabeth, and in 1784 Richmond and Robert were placed in the Newport jail for failure to pay the judgement of the court. On March 25, 1792, Richmond deeded land to Robert Carr that Elizabeth had received from her brother, Captain John Shrieve.

Richmond married Elizabeth SHRIEVE, daughter of John SHRIEVE and Mary SOULE, on 30 Nov 1755 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. Elizabeth was born 8 Nov 1716.

564. John SISSON IV (John , John , John , Richard ) was born before 1735. He died before 10 Mar 1783.

John Sisson IV was a cordwainer like his father. He and Ruth Fish were married by Robert Lawton, Asst. On March 27, 1770, John took a mortgage on land in Portsmouth including a house for 17 3/4 Spanish silver milled dollars. John is also reported as having the children assigned to John and Naomi (Smith) Sisson. Ruth and their children have also been assigned to John and Sybil (Huddleston) Sisson. John and Ruth are mentioned in the will of Ruth Fish (her grandmother?) dated 1762 and in the will of her father dated 1773. John Sisson IV died intestate, probably of smallpox early in 1783. On March 10, 1783, Ruth was granted administration of his estate valued at 26 pounds, 12 shillings, 16 pence recorded in Book 7, pages 40-1. The estate was closed April 12, 1784. Ruth paid off the property's mortgage April 27, 1785.

John married Ruth FISH, daughter of John FISH and Mary ALLEN, on 8 Jul 1756 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. Ruth was born 25 May 1737 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island.

Ruth is mentioned in her grandmother Ruth Fish's will, dated June 22, 1762.

567. Joseph SISSON (John , John , John , Richard ) was born after 1739 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. He died in Middletown, Newport Co., Rhode Island.

Joseph Sisson may have been born about 1740. He was a laborer and a butcher. In 1771 he and his wife Ruth Shrieve purchased property and then sold half of it to Richmond, his brother and neighbor. Their children were all born in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island, but recorded in Tiverton. Ruth and the children have also erroneously been assigned to Joseph (4)(Richard 1, George 2, James 3, Joseph 4). Joseph and Ruth are mentioned in her father's will dated 1785. Joseph apparently had difficulty several times before the Town Council of Portsmouth with suits brought against him, beginning about 1781. At times they also lived in Little Compton, and in Tiverton in 1803.

Joseph married Ruth SHRIEVE, daughter of Thomas SHRIEVE and Ruth WEAVER, on 24 Jul 1766 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. Ruth was born 13 Nov 1746.
