Descendant Scott Reichard cites a Cook genealogy which says that Abigail Cook was a daughter of Job and Freelove (Gubbins) Cook.

Abigail married John SISSON Jr., son of John SISSON and Elizabeth BRIGGS, on 29 Jan 1792. John was born about 1766. He died in Rensselaer Co., New York.

John and his brothers Joseph and Job appear to have moved to New York. They disposed of their land in Portsmouth, RI, in three "indentures tripartite" in 1790. These documents name their wives.

Caleb Shearman's will written January 19, 1837 and proved February 14, 1842, mentions all his children except Edward and Elizabeth, and Isaac as deceased.

Caleb married (1) Mary SHERMAN on 7 Oct 1784. Mary was born about 1770. She died about 1870.

Caleb also married (2) Elizabeth SISSON, daughter of Joseph SISSON Jr. and Mary SHEARMAN, on 14 Jan 1798 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Elizabeth was born 13 Jun 1782 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. She died 13 Apr 1819.

Elizabeth Sisson married Caleb Shearman as his second wife. She died five days after the birth of her daughter Elizabeth.
