Deborah Cook(e) was "of Summerset [sic], Mass." when she married Haile Mason Sisson. There _is_ a Somerset, Bristol County, Mass.

Charlotte also married (2) James BARTON. James was born about 1780.

697. Lydia SISSON [scrapbook] (George , John , George , George , Richard ) was born 1781 in Rhode Island. She died 20 Dec 1810 in Torrey, Yates Co., New York.

Lydia and Isaac Prosser may have had two children, the son who lived in Torrey, New York, and another. Lydia is buried next to her parents, George and Bethany Sisson.

Lydia married Isaac PROSSER. Isaac was born 1781. He died 1870.

698. Benoni SISSON (George , John , George , George , Richard ) was born 16 Sep 1781 in Rhode Island. He died 20 Jun 1833 in Jerusalem, Yates Co., New York and was buried in Cootes Cemetery, now Luther Sisson Cemetery, Jerusalem, New York.

Benoni married Mary MEAK, daughter of James MEEK and Mary Anne, in 1816. Mary was born 1799. She died 1876/1877 in Jerusalem, Yates Co., New York.

Mary Meek was born in 1799 (or 1788). The 1835 Jerusalem township records show her as a widow with 9 children.

699. Jonathan SISSON (George , John , George , George , Richard ) was born 14 Apr 1784 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. He died 21 May 1857 in Jerusalem, Yates Co., New York.

Jonathan married Catherine VOSBINDER before 1810. Catherine was born 1787 in New Jersey. She died 25 Jun 1857 in Jerusalem, Yates Co., New York.

Catherine was "of Milo, [Yates County], NY" when she married Jonathan Sisson.

700. Lament SISSON [scrapbook] (George , John , George , George , Richard ) was born 31 Dec 1788 in Rhode Island. She died 1 Jan 1860 in Monterey, Schuyler Co., New York and was buried in Monterey Cemetery, Monterey, New York.

Lament married Richard D. HAYES [scrapbook] about 1807. Richard was born 22 Nov 1783 in Vermont. He died 23 Jul 1850 in Monterey, Schuyler Co., New York and was buried in Monterey Cemetery, Monterey, NY.

701. Luther SISSON (George , John , George , George , Richard ) was born 28 Dec 1793 in Penn Yan, Yates Co., New York. He died 2 Jan 1871 in Dresden, Yates Co., New York.

Luther Sisson's obituary in the "Yates County Chronicle" 5 January 1871:
Luther Sisson (77 years and 5 days) died at his home in Dresden, January 2, 1871. He was the son of George and his wife Bethany Luther Sisson, natives of Rhode Island. His parents were firm and devoted members of the Friend's Society [led by "the Friend" Jemima Wilkinson, not to be confused with the Society of Friends, the Quakers], and his birth Dec 27, 1793, is said to have been the third in the Friend's Settlement. He was the youngest of the children. His brothers were Benoni and Jonathan, and his sisters Lydia and Lament. Benoni married Mary Meek, and was the father of John and James Sisson of Jerusalem. Jonathan married Catherine Vosbinder and was the father of six children, among whom is Harrison H. Sisson of Jerusalem. Lydia married isaac Prosser and has a son living in Torrey. Lament was the wife of Richard Hayes. George Hayes, her son, lived in Dresden. Luther Sisson grew up under the immediate influence of the Friend's Society, attending the meetings with his parents. In conversation with the writer of this notice in 1868, he spoke with the highest respect of the Friend, and declared in the most emphatic terms that he held statements adverse to her integrity to be utterly false. Mr. Sisson was one of the early school teachers having commenced at the age of 19 in Larzelere Hollow in Jerusalem in 1812. He taught school several years, and was at one time a clerk in the store of William Huston at Eddytown. He married Sarah Maria sister of Wright Brown of Torry who is still living. They had a son, Charles E. Sisson, who resides at Dresden. Mr. Sisson was in his more vigorous years a man of activity and quietness of thought, and nearly always held some town office. In 1854 and 1855 he was supervisor of the Town of Torrey. As a constable he frequently attended court at Canandaigua, before Yates County was erected, and took a number of persons to jail there when imprisonment for debt was the law of the land. He was a teacher, merchant, and farmer by turns, and lived to a good old age, retaining his mental vivacity to the lastest period.

Luther married (1) Sarah M. BROWN on 7 Feb 1822 in Yates Co., New York. Sarah was born 1799 in New York State. She died 17 Aug 1847 in Yates Co., New York.

Some records show Eliza's husband's name transcribed as "David Hunt".

Eliza married Daniel HUNTER, son of Rufus HUNTER and Patience ROUNDS, on 5 Dec 1827 in Warren, Newport Co., Rhode Island. Daniel was born 11 May 1803.

706. Thomas SISSON (Esek , John , George , George , Richard ) was born 4 Jun 1793 in Swansea, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.

Maureen Horton has a family Bible for Esek's family. Maureen wrote David Arne Sisson, Oct 13, 2000, to say "Regarding the 1850 census, the page before the one where [Thomas' son] Charles is listed explains the situation of a 15 year old living with a 19 and 14 year old. On the previous page of the 1850 census, it lists as number 98 of "families numbered in order of visitation" Thomas Sisson age 56, Cooper; Almira Sisson, age 50; [Thomas son-in-law and fellow cooper] Robert Cole, age 30, Cooper; [Thomas' daughter and Robert's wife] Mary Cole, age 29.

Thomas married Almira KELLEY. Almira was born 5 Oct 1799. She died Sep 1858.

Almira (not Elmira) is the name in in the family Bible held by Maureen Horton .

Luther married Hannah S. CHURCH, daughter of Asa (not Gideon) CHURCH and Hannah SMALL, on 28 Jan 1827 in Dorchester, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts. Hannah was born 22 Oct 1808 in Harwich, Barnstable Co., Massachusetts. She died 13 Apr 1887 in Easton, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.
