804. Nathan SISSON Jr. (Nathan , William , Thomas , George , Richard ) was born about 1776 in Westerly, Washington Co., Rhode Island. He died in Wilbraham, Hampden Co., Massachusetts. Nathan Sisson, Jr., was born about 1776 either in Westerly, Washington County, RI, or (less likely) in Vermont. He was a farmer, builder, and joiner. Hulda married Joshua RANDALL Jr., son of Joshua RANDALL and Rhoda CHESEBROUGH, in 1796 in Stonington, New London Co., Connecticut. Joshua was born 1775. He died 15 Aug 1846.

Randall married Lorenda GOODWILL, daughter of John GOODWILL and Sally, on 24 Jan 1808. Lorenda was born 25 Jan 1785. She died 30 Mar 1861 in Oregon, Dane Co., Wisconsin.

826. Bridget SISSON (James , William , Thomas , George , Richard ) was born 9 Dec 1784 in Stonington, New London Co., Connecticut. She died 5 Apr 1842 in Onondaga, Onondaga Co., New York.

Bridget married Franklin PECK on 15 Sep 1805. Franklin was born about 1785.

833. Harriet SISSON (James , William , Thomas , George , Richard ) was born 19 Sep 1799 in Rhinebeck, Dutchess Co., New York. She died 24 Feb 1868 in Port Byron, Cayuga Co., New York. Harriet Sisson Gillespie Bull died at the home of her son George Gillespie in Port Byron, New York.

Harriet married (1) Hugh GILLESPIE on 8 Oct 1825. Hugh was born 4 Jan 1798 in Charlestown, Montgomery Co., New York. He died 17 Sep 1836 in Michigan City, La Porte Co., Indiana. Dr. Hugh Gillespie was "of Jamesville, New York."

834. William SISSON [scrapbook] (James , William , Thomas , George , Richard ) was born 3 Nov 1801 in Rhinebeck, Dutchess Co., New York. He died 3 Feb 1885 in Port Hope, Ontario, Canada. Information about William from "Northumberland County - Hope Township History," 1878 Illustrated Historical Atlas of Durham and Northumberland Counties of Ontario. Published by H. Belden & Co. - Toronto (at: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/3807/ontgen/hope1b.html): William SISSON, J.P., who claims to be [with one exception] the oldest male settler residing in Port Hope, came to the place in June 1823. In his time he has seen three or four generations pass away. He came from Duchess County, New York and is the youngest of a large family of sons and daughters. He commenced the manufacture of leather in Port Hope and carried on the business successfully up to 1852, when he retired, his industry having secured him a competency. He took a very active part in the management of the Durham     Agricultural Society, having been its treasurer for forty years. He was also an active promoter of the first Mechanics' Institute. He was active in putting down the rebellion of 1837\38, having command of a troop of cavalry [attached to the Durham regiment] which he was instrumental in raising. He married a niece of Jonathan WALTON [one of the first settlers already noticed]. Mr. SISSON is somewhat remarkable in his locality for the very heterodox opinions entertained by him upon religious subjects. William is listed in the 1871 Ontario Federal census: William Sisson Sex: M Age: 69 Birthplace: United States Religion: Church of England, Anglican Origin: English Occupation: Gentleman District: Durham East (051) Sub-district: Port Hope Town (B) Division: 2 Page: 36 Microfilm reel: C-9979 Reference: RG31-Statistics, Canada William is listed as a tanner in the 1848 census in Port Hope.

William married Eliza Ann WALTON. Eliza was born about 1803. She died 30 Dec 1889 in Port Hope, Ontario, Canada. The children's names are taken from the 1861 and 1881 Port Hope censuses. Ontario death records show that Eliza Ann Sisson died 30 Dec 1889. Eugene Sisson was the informant.

Phoebe Holdredge has been reported as the wife of Jonathan Sisson, William's brother. She was "of Connecticut" when she married William.

Jonathan married (1) Selina Matilda LOOMIS, daughter of Jacob LOOMIS and Selina HOLMES, on 4 Nov 1810. Selina was born 27 Feb 1788 in Salem, New London Co., Connecticut. She died 11 Oct 1820.
