Could this be the Eliza Ann Sisson whose obituary appeared in the April 13, 1922 issue of the Quaker publication "American Friend"? It reports "Sisson, Eliza Ann. D 3-17-1922, Fall River, Mass, 82nd y." and cites 4-13-1922, p. 304. Joan and David Sisson think it was not this Elizabeth since she would have been reported as Elizabeth/Eliza (Sisson) McDonald.

1404. Merebah SISSON (Abigail COOK , Elizabeth SISSON , George , Richard , George , Richard ) was born 28 Jul 1794. She died 28 Sep 1869.

Merebah (or Meribah) and Benjamin both died of typhoid fever in Maryland, Otsego County, New York, according to the 1870 census which listed those persons who had died in the epidemic of 1869. Merebah Sisson Gurney is buried in Crumhorn Mountain Cemetery, Maryland, Otsego County, New York, with her husband Benjamin Gurney and their sons Cook, John, Isaac, Hiram, and David. References: Rensselaerville, New York, censuses of 1800, 1810, 1820, 1830, adn 1840. In the Maryland, New York, 1850 census, Abbie is listed with daughter Meribah Gurney.

Merebah married Benjamin GURNEY, son of David GURNEY and Elizabeth, in Albany Co., New York. Benjamin was born 27 Mar 1792. He died 21 Sep 1869.

The 1820 federal census lists Benjamin Gurney in Rensselaerville, Albany County, NY. Benjamin and Meribah sold lot 281 in Rensselaerville on 1 April 1822, and they moved to Maryland, Otsego County, NY, in 1824. Benjamin is listed in the Maryland federal or state censuses for 1830, 1840, 1850, 1855, and 1860. The 1870 census lists both Benjamin and Meribah as having died in the past year of typhoid fever.

Ruth married Joseph ANTHONY [scrapbook], son of Elijah ANTHONY and Lois SISSON, on 13 Nov 1831. Joseph was born 3 Dec 1798. He died 25 Oct 1842.

Joseph died after falling from a hay wagon and becoming impaled on a pitchfork handle. He managed to break off the handle of the pitchfork and get to the house, where he died three days later in agony, probably of infection and hemorrhaging. He and Ruth (Hathaway) Anthony are both buried in Friends Cemetery, Newport, Rhode Island.
