1736. Eli Daniel SISSON [scrapbook] (Benjamin , John , Giles , Thomas , George , Richard ) was born 1824 in Ohio. He died 7/8 Mar 1863 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., Kentucky and was buried in Cave Hill National Cemetery, Louisville, KY, Union Veterans Section B, Row 2, Grave 48. Eli was a teamster for Co. G, 80th Reg. Indiana Vol during the Civil War. He died of pneumonia during the war and is buried in Cave Hill National Cemetery, Louisville, KY, Section B of the military section, Row 2, Grave 48.

Eli married Caroline RAYLES, daughter of William RAYLES Jr, on 10 Dec 1842 in Switzerland Co., Indiana. Caroline was born 1824 or 1827. She died 4 Dec 1898 in Gibson Co., Indiana. Caroline is called "Caroline Fenton" in some documents because she had a stepfather named Fenton. Caroline's postulated second marriage to Lewis Jeroux is insufficiently documented. In pension papers of 1879, she states that she never remarried after being widowed.

1737. Henry B. SISSON (James C. , John , Giles , Thomas , George , Richard ) was born 22 Apr 1820 in Athens, , Ohio. He died 15 Dec 1908 in Gallatin Co., Ohio and was buried in Paint Lick Cem, Sugar Creek, , Kentucky. Henry B. Sisson was a farmer. He appears in the 1840 Gallatin County, Kentucky, census. Annie Sisson says that Henry owned a general store at Sugar Bay Creek at the bend of the Ohio River in Gallatin County, Kentucky. His house was next to it. Henry and Mary are buried in Paint Lick Cemetery, Gallatin County, Kentucky.

Henry married Mary R. SHAFFER, daughter of David SHAFFER and Rachel REYNOLDS, on 28 Jul 1837 in Switzerland Co., Indiana. Mary was born 27 Aug 1818 in Montgomery Co., Kentucky. She died 3 Aug 1902 in Gallatin Co., Kentucky.

1739. Ebenezer SISSON (James C. , John , Giles , Thomas , George , Richard ) was born Jan 1829 in , , Ohio. He died 1918 in Gallatin Co., Kentucky and was buried in Paint Lick Cem, Paint Lick, , Kentucky. The Gallatin County, Kentucky, 1870 census which shows Ebenezer, age 41, born in Ohio, and his wife Clarinda, age 40, born in Indiana, and their children Henry 17, Mary 16, William 14, Emily 12, Susan 6, Alice 1. Eb and Clarinda were buried in the Paint Lick [near Warsaw, Kentucky] cemetery where James' (Ebenezer's father) -- James' son Henry and grandson George Marion are buried. Furthermore, there is a stone at Ten Mile Cemetery, next to James' stone, that says: George W. Sisson, son of Ebenezer and Clarinda, b. Aug 5, 1856, d. Jan 29, 1869. S In the 1900 census, Ebenezer is listed with a wife Sarah, age 56, and they stated that they had been married for 18 years. Newspaper obituary for Ebenezer Sisson: "Dr. E. B. Sisson Passed Away Sunday Night" Dr. E. B. Sisson died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thos. Morris, in this city on last Sunday night. The deceased had been in failing health for the past three or four years, his death being attributable to the infirmities of old age and a complication of trouble. Dr. Sisson was 84 years of age and is survived by six children. He was thrice married, all of his wives preceding him to the grave. He had lived on Sugar Creek a great part of his life, but for the last few years had made his home here with his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Morris. He was well known over the county and his death will be regretted by all. Funeral services were held from the Paint Lick Baptist Church, of which deceased had been a faithful member, on Wednesday and the remains interred in the cemetery at that place.

Ebenezer married Clarinda KEITH, daughter of Joseph KEITH and Sarah SPOON, on 5 Jun 1851. Clarinda was born 1829 in York Township, Switzerland Co., Indiana. She died 20 Jul 1899 in Gallatin Co., Kentucky.

William Sisson was possibly a twin with George W. Sisson. George is buried in Ten Mile Church Cemetery, Gallatin County, Kentucky, near his grandparents, James C. and Lorena Sisson, with whom he was enumerated in the 1860 census.

1744. Henry S. PECK (Sarah SISSON , John , Giles , Thomas , George , Richard ) was born 1828. He died 1892. In 1853, Henry S. Peck, Putnam Sisson, and Willis Lesuer and his wife Sarah A. (Sisson) Lesuer bought farms in Washington Township, Erie County, PA. They all bought adjacent farms from Alfred and Edgar Huidekoper of Crawford County, PA.

Henry married Harriett Cecilia. Harriett was born 1839. She died 1919.

1746. Eugene LaGrange PECK (Sarah SISSON , John , Giles , Thomas , George , Richard ) was born 16 Apr 1831 in Otsego Co., New York. He died 1872 in Schuyler Co, Illinois. In November 1856 Eugene LaGrange Peck bought a farm in Erie County, PA, from Putnam Sisson and Willis and Sarah A. Lesuer.

Eugene married Sarah Amney EASTON. Sarah was born 1841. She died 1928.

1755. Anna SISSON (Giles , Arnold , Giles , Thomas , George , Richard ) was born 1841 in Leroy, Genesee Co., New York. She died 1934. Anna Sisson died unmarried in 1934. Her will of 1934 ("1943" in the Sisson Newsletter, v.3, no.2) named nieces Mrs. Hope (Strouts) McPherson and Mrs. Ruth (Strouts) Bryce. Anna had a daughter, Edna O., born 1862, who was raised by her grandfather Giles, and who died in 1882. Edna's death certificate names her mother Anna and "no father."
