3231. Julia SISSON (John , John , Samuel M. , Giles , Thomas , George , Richard ) was born 15 May 1834 in Crown Point, Essex Co., New York. She died 18 Apr 1918 in Whallonsburg, Essex Co., New York and was buried 21 Apr 1918 in Burt Cemetery, Essex, Essex Co., New York.

Julia married (1) Benajah TYRRELL, son of Riley or Rila TYRELL and Harriet JONES, in 1850. Benajah was born 5 Sep 1829 in Schroon, Essex Co., New York. He died 11 Dec 1894 in Whallonsburgh, Essex, Essex Co., New York and was buried in Burt Cemetery, Essex, Essex Co., New York. Benajah and Julia owned and operated the Tyrrell House, a hotel in Whallonsburg, Essex Township, Essex Co., New York, for many years. This family appears in the 1850 census for Schroon in Essex County as Benajah 21, laborer; Julia 16, Joel 26, laborer; Almira Hardy 32; Harris Hardy 5; and John T. Oakly 10. The 1855 New York census for Essex County shows the family in Schroon as Benajah 25, lumberman; Julia 21, wife; Valorus 2, child, and ---on 1, child (probably Myron). Mildred Tyrrell Nelson included Morgan on the list of Benajah's children, but then said she was not sure if he was her father's brother or not. Elaine Macey (the source for this family) thinks not. There is a picture labeled "Morgan Tyrrell" but with no indication of where he fits in the family. Augusta (Tyrrell) Miller did not remember any child in this family named Morgan or Zera. She "kind of" remembered hearing of an "Erie." In 1882 Benajah was convicted of selling liquor without a license and was fined $50. In 1889 he was again charged with selling liquor without a license, but no record had been found to show where he was found guilty or not. In December 1891 a charge of second degree assault was lodged. Benajah pled not guilty, but later pled guilty to the charge of assault in the third degree.

	5367	M	i	Valorus Wolcott TYRRELL was born 12 Aug 1853 in Schroon, Essex Co., New York. He died 20 Apr 1918 in Essex, Essex Co., New York and was buried in Baptist Cemetery, Schroon, Essex Co., New York. Valorus was usually called Lowe. He took over the operation of the Tyrrell House, a hotel in Whallonsburg, New York, following the death of his father. He and Phebe took in his niece Augusta Tyrrell Miller after the death of her mother, and also a foster child, Pearl, who had been living at the County Home in Whallonsburg. Augusta thought of Pearl as her sister. Pearl was never adopted, but she appears as a Tyrrell in some records. Volorus and Phebe had three children of their own. He is buried in the Baptist Cemetery, Schroon, Essex Co., New York.
				Valorus married Phebe Sabina STOWELL. Phebe died 20 Apr 1918.

	5369	M	iii	Eric Orville (Zera?) TYRRELL was born 1856 in Schroon, Essex Co., New York. There are references to a "Zera," to an "Erie," both of which probably refer to Eric Orville Tyrrell.
	5370	M	iv	Ralph Adelbert TYRRELL was born 15 Sep 1858 in Schroon, Essex Co., New York. He died 29 May 1945 in Hartford, Hardford Co., Connecticut and was buried in Prospect Cemetery, Vergennes, Vermont. Ralph had 7 children, all with his first wife, Emma. Ralph is buried in Prospect Cemetery, Vergennes, Vermont.
				Ralph married (1) Emma Charlotte PERVIER. Emma died 14 Jan 1907 in Addison, Vermont.
				Ralph also married (2) Martha Sartwell WHITTY.
				Ralph also married (3) Mabel Warner CULVER.

Sisson and her husband Samuel Leslie came to Waseca County, Minnesota, in 1866 and farmed in Otisco Township there. Reference: "Child's History of Waseca County, Minnesota," published in 1905, pp 744-5.

Mary married Samuel LESLIE on 23 Sep 1860. Samuel was born 9 Sep 1837 in Essex Co., New York.
