Notes for Benjamin BLY
From St. Johnsville, (NY) Examiner and Herald (Jul 15, 1943): Most of their (Benjamin/Johanna) children moved to Norway, NY at different times between 1792 and 1810. The scarcity of the records of the family in Rhode Island shows them to have been on the move from N. Kingston to Exeter, RI, to W. Greenwich and Coventry. Then they moved to Voluntown in CT and presumably some to Stonington, CT before going to Salisbury and Norway in Herkimer Co., NY. 171

Notes for Johanna (Spouse 1)
From St. Johnsville (NY) Examiner and Herald (July 15, 1943): Joanna Carr of W. Greenwich, RI was born on ____ and was married ______ possibly Saybrook, to Benjamin. They were probably not married until 1761, which would make them about 24 years old, rather old for those times. Joanna was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Corey Carr. There was some kind of a mistake in copying the date of Joanna's birth - it was written May 24, 1733 - which was in the same month as the birth of her older brother William - born May 16, 1733. Joanna, listed as their third child born May 24 has the likely preference for 1736 or 1737, and probably the same year as Benjamin.171
