Notes for Francis Davis IV:
He was Capt. Francis Davis of West Amesbury, Mass. and Warner, N. H., and was called Jr. until about 1750. In 1765 he bought of Sam Hadley of Amesbury one half share of township granted to Hadley, with others, by the General Court, "in consideration of my being a soldier in the Narragansett War." The same year he bought of Joseph Peaslee of Amesbury a similar right in "township first in number and second range." (Warner called No. 1.) In 1767 he and wife sold homestead in Amesbury. His name is on the Warner Town Records as early as 1765, and every year thereafter until his death. It is said that he built a mill at "Davisville" which has been in the family ever since; that he procured the town charter in 1774, called the first meeting of the town, was the first moderator, and the first representative in the legislature; and that he was the "first citizen" of Warner during the Revolution. He was drowned 26 Nov. 1784 while travelling from Warner to Amesbury, and buried 10 Dec. 1784 in the Davisville Cemetery at Warner, N. H., where there is a monument to the right of entrance erected to his memory.

Her father LEWIS OLIVER came from a pioneer family who settled in Jackson Co.,
Ohio where he was born May 12, 1833. As a young man he came to Illinois where
he married MARGARET VINEYARD Jan 10, 1856. He was a farmer and musician. He
served through the Civil War and died at home May 15, 1873 at the age of 40
years.
Sarah Alice Oliver was a wonderful mother, homemaker and neighbor. Relatives
and friends near and far sent for her when trouble or ilness came. She seldom
failed to respond even though it meant being away from her home for weeks at a
time. Her best loved hobbies were making quilts and tending her roses. She
was active in the Baptist Church at Omaha although she kept her membership in
the Missionary Baptist Church at Union in Hamilton Co.
