Albert F. Browne was born on 26 August 1912 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. He received a Mathematics and Science degree about 1933 in Indiana Central College, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. About 1935 he was an employee of Sterling Federal Savings and Loan Company in Rock Falls, Whiteside County, Illinois. Because of the depression, he could not get a permanent job after college teaching, and he moved to Rock Falls where he began working at Sterling Savings & Loan. Albert lived in Rock Falls, Whiteside County, Illinois about 1935. In 1938 he was a banker in Sterling, Whiteside County, Illinois. He served in the military during World War II in the United States Army between 1941 and 1945. He was drafted and was sent to Italy with the 383rd Replacement company. After being injured at Bologne, he was transferred to the 49th Financial Section at Modena. After victory in Europe, his division was ordered to the Pacific, but while passing through the Straights of Gibralter, they were ordered to go directly to New York. The war was over. Albert served in the military before 10 December 1945 in Fort Benjamin Harrison, Lawrence, Marion County, Indiana. When the war was over, he reported for duty at Fort Benjamin Harrison and was discharged on a couple of weeks before Christmas. He lived in Arizona in 1947/8. He moved here for health reasons. He was elected as City Councilman in 1947 in Sterling, Whiteside County, Illinois. Upon his return from World War II he ran for a seat on the City Council, and according to one report he "won with the most votes ever received in an election in Sterling." He served as Finance Commissioner. Between 1950 and 1961 Albert was a loan officer with Arizona Bank in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. After several jobs and moves, he accepted this position in Phoenix, where he rose through the ranks to become a Vice President of the bank. He left in 1961, reportedly for health reasons. He owned his own company, Myrtle's Office Service in 1965. He died on 4 February 1970 in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona.
