They followed Menno Simons, and having been persecuted in both Switzerland and
Germany for their religious beliefs, emigrated to this continent when William
Penn offered refuge in his colonies for victims of persecution. They are
believed to have landed in Philadelphia and settled in Lancaster Co.,PA.
between 1710 and 1735. Several daughters were bprn to them, but only one
son, Jacob, is known to have survived and married.
