Immigrated with his parents 1743, arriving on the ship Lydia and landing at
Philadelphia, PA. He and Christina lived in York Co., PA. for a time, then
moved to Adams Co., PA., where Herman was a prosperous farmer. Theylived near
E. Berlin, PA. Hermanus, Sr. and his family are listed as members of the Old
German Baptist Upper Conewago Congreation (Mummerts Meeting House) in 1770.
