Notes for S
ARAH FOUST:
Most of the information on Sarah Foust's descendants comes from the book
'SOME KIBLERS FROM THE SHENANDOAH VALLEY including The Descendants of Adam & Barbara Pence Kibler" In his preface Donald Ping the author thanks several people who contributed to the book. Margaret Buel, whom he mentions, was the source of some and I believe MOST of our line beginning with Isabelle, and more likely beginning with Theobald. I corresponded with Dr. Ping many years ago, and he had a very generous attitude towards anyone using his info in the future.

Notes for J
AMES LEWIS:
James Lewis is a bit of a mystery. There is almost no record of him except in Minnie's marriage return to John Fasnacht, stating James Lewis as her father, and Sarah's marraige return to her second husband William Yingst. No marriage record between Sarah and James has yet been found.

Margaret Fasnacht Buel, longtime genealogist of this family, was told by Walter Fasnacht (yes, Grandpa Fasnacht to many of us) that James Lewis died in an "Indian War". I can still picture Crystal Green Tate, Walter's mother-in-law, contemporary of Minnie's and My great-grandmother, turning her head to the side and gazing off into space and saying that James Lewis died during the Civil War. She said it very thoughtfully. The problem with that is, due to Sarah and Minnie's ages, that's impossible!! It has also been said that James and Sarah had a second child, Alice, who died as a baby. By the 1880 Census, Sarah and Minnie are in the household of (? I've got to look it up), she as a servant. Later Sarah marries William Yingst.

By the way. Crystal said that James Lewis was born near Rose Hill. [?]

The search continues.

INNIE MAE LEWIS:
According to her marriage 'return', her gravestone and her son's birth cert., Minnie was only 14 years old (almost 15] when she married John.

In her later years, Minnie's grandchildren remember her as a smiling woman, always ready with popcorn or some other treat. She would hold them, and hug them, but never hear them.....Minnie was deaf, at least in later years.
