  1. "Lorenz Schneider" (Johann Laurent Schnider), son of Joseph Aloisius Alexi Schnider and Anna Maria Barbara Romer, was born 22 June 1821 in Benken, Sankt Gallen, Switzerland. He emigrated aboard the Ship Narragansett from the Port of LeHavre, France, arriving at the Port of New Orleans, Louisiana, on 27 November 1845 . He was accompanied on the ship by his mother's sister, Maria Francisca Romer Thum and her family. They travelled up the Mississippi River to Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois. He died 15 March 1878 in Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois and was buried 17 March 1878 in Walnut Hill Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois.

    He married Mary Ann Zeller on 12 November 1848 at St. Peter Cathedral, Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois. Mary Ann Francisca Christina Zeller, daughter of Joseph Franz Dominic Zeller and Maria Anna Francisca Seliner, was born 29 January 1830 in Schänis, Sankt Gallen, Switzerland. The Zeller family emigrated aboard the Ship Swanton from the Port of LeHavre, France, arriving at the Port of New Orleans, Louisiana, on 21 July 1845 . They travelled up the Mississippi River to Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois. She died 17 January 1906 in Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois and was buried 19 January 1906 in Walnut Hill Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois.
