Thomas Glenwright of Knarsdale

We also only know a little information about Thomas Glenwright and his family. We believe the records show that Thomas was baptized 9-May-1756 in Simonburn, Northumberland, son of John Glenwright.

In 1778, he married Elizabeth Wigham of Haltwhistle. She was the daughter of Matthew Wigham and Mary Rodham of Haltwhistle.

To our knowledge, Thomas Glenwright was the first member of the Glenwright family to leave the Church of England, as evidenced by the baptism of his son William in the Presbyterian Church in 1792.
