In the parish of Tuam, mid-1800's to present, BEGLEY, FLAHERTY, MULLEN, and GANNON surnames in or near the townland of Ahgloragh.


County Cork?

William TRIMBLE, whose wife was Nancy, came to the USA in 1847 and settled in Indiana. It is said that his father, possibly also named William, was a minister in County Cork for over 50 years, and when he died his picture was on the front page of the newspaper. I have been unable to locate information about this minister or the newspaper in question. It is also possible that this family came from Northern Ireland, as the name is much more common there.

My grandfather, Franz Oscar FOETSCH, was born in the town of Werdau, 12 Feb 1882 to Emil Richard FOETSCH and Bertha Augusta KNORR. They came to the USA late in 1882.
Emil Richard FOETSCH was born 8 Apr 1857 to Alwyn FÖTSCH and Minnie STRAUS. Bertha Augusta KNORR was born 5 May 1858 to Freiderich KNORR and Augusta
GRAUFINAU.  I have no further information on the ancestors in Germany, and do not speak or read German.
