      X-113/114: Matthew Duncan's heirs' Attorney to George Keebaugh. 26 July 1846 from John N. Duncan of Shipensburg, Cumberland Co., and Martha Duncan and Mary Duncan and Sarah M. Duncan of Green Township, Franklin Co. PA, being all the "linell" descendants of Matthew Duncan decd. formerly of Franklin Co. PA, by their certain attorney the Rev. James Meginnis of Dublin Twp, Huntingdon Co. PA, to George Keebaugh of Dublin Twp, Bedford Co. PA, that for $250, the undivided half part of a tract or parcel of land in Dublin Twp, Bedford Co. PA, containing 400 acres and allowance of 6% &c surveyed for George Dansdill and Matthew Duncan 19 May 1806 on warrant dated 3 July 1794 adj. lands now of James Kempe and Robert Campbell on the south and other lands of the said Keebaugh on the West and lands now belonging to the heirs of Judge Tode? deceased and others on the North East, it being the undivided half part of the same tract of land lately sold by the heirs of Judge Tode deceased to the said Keebaugh; and Rev. James Y. Meginnis ... agrees that the said John N. Duncan and "Cathin" Duncan his wife and Martha Duncan and Mary Duncan and Sarah M. Duncan ... warrant the land. Wit. Nathan Baker?       X-155/156: Matthew Duncan's heirs to Rev. James McGinnis. 20 August 1845, we, John N. Duncan M.D. and Catherine his wife and Martha Duncan, Mary Duncan and Sarah Duncan, children and heirs at law of Matthew Duncan late of Greenvillage? in the County of Franklin, deceased, do hereby appoint James Meginnis of Dublin Township, Huntington Co. our attorney to sell our undivided half part of a tract of land in Dublin Township, Bedford Co., which descended to us from our said father and which we lately held as tenants in common with the heirs of the Honob. John Tod deceased, and all other land which we own or have any right in or title to in Bedford Co. at such price as he may deem just, and we authorize him to make a deed to the purchasers of the land so it may be recorded. /s/ John N. PA, 50 lbs, 200 acres in Allegheny Co., lot MCCCXLI (MAD: 1341) granted 2 May 1787 to Elijah Hunt who 1 Dec. 1787 conveyed to William Bonham who on 18 April 1796 conveyed to Aaron Vanclave who 23 July 1796 conveyed to James Trimble who 17 March 1797 assigned to William Duncan; now they convey to Matthew Duncan. Wit. Wm. D. Nicholson, J.H. (Jno?.) Duncan. Affidavit in Franklin Co. PA, John Duncan appeared and said he saw the signing of William Duncan Nicholson as a witness. (FHL film 864,175)

PA, and wife Margret, to John Dunkin his son late of Franklin Co., state afsd, for $500, lot on waters of Mingo Creek in twp., co. & state afsd, adj. by land of George Schwartz, land of Jno. Witherow, land of John McKelvey, land of Henry Schwartz, containing 53 acres, being part of a larger tract patented in name of Samuel Irwin and Alexander Addison and Mathew Ritchey in trust &c by pattent 19 July 1796, in Pattent book 29 page 185; the said Alexr. Addison by deed 29 May 1798 conveyed the land to Eneos McDonald recorded Book P pg.6&7, said Eneas McDonnald by deed 10 Nov. 1802 conveyed to Wuck? (Mark?) McCord who by will executed 10 Feb. 1823 bequeathed to his wife Elisabeth McCord [who] by deed 9 April 1824 conveyed to her brother James Dunkin for her maintenance during her lifetime, recorded Book M V2 page 272&c. /s/ James Duncan, Margret (X) Duncan. To my nephew Mathew Duncan son of Seth Duncan, 500 acres on Highland Creek, and all my right and title of what is coming to me from the estate of John Carney Decd, a suit being now instituted against said Carney's heirs in Berkley Co. VA, and all estate coming to me in Franklin Co. PA which Mathew Duncan has a power of attorney from me to collect, also my negro woman Lucy and all my personal estate. To Seth Duncan Junior son of Seth Duncan, 500 acres on Clay Creek, "Livington" Co. KY. To "the neice" Eliza Duncan of Seth Duncan, 660 acres in Nelson Co. PA, for life, also my horse and buggy; my two gold watches to my two nephews Augustus Duncan and Calvin Duncan, Calvin to have his choice; house and lot (boundaries given) in Borough of Chambersburg in Franklin Co. PA to my niece Mary White Duncan; my mill property and lands etc. on Falling Spring in Guilford Township in Franklin Co. PA to nephew Augustus Duncan, and personal property on those premises except a sideboard to my niece Martha Smith; farm partly in Guilford and partly in Quincy Townships, Franklin Co. PA, adj. lands of B. Ross, where Jacob Lightfoot now resides, to my nephew Calvin M. Duncan and my niece Martha Smith, and to them also my farm in Quincy Twp adj. above; my land in Knox Co. OH to my three nephews Augustus, Calvin M. and William Duncan; to friend William D. Moulder of City of Philadelphia, PA, $4,000; to Dr. John N. Regarding my Bank Stock in the Chambersburg and Philadelphia Banks, my PA State Stock and my US Stock, they to remain unsold and invested until my nephew William A. Duncan becomes 21, and the interest divided annually among my five nephews and nieces, the children of my brother Adam Duncan, deceased, share and share alike, and when William A. Duncan becomes 21, the stock is to be equally divided among the five nephews and nieces. My real estate or house in City of Baltimore, MD, to my five nephews and nieces, the children of my said deceased brother Adam; the house to remain unsold until my nephew William A. Duncan becomes 21, and the rents divided like the interest from the stock. To my nephew Calvin M. Duncan and my niece Martha Smith the boards and lumber on my farm in Quincy Twp, Franklin Co., which boards and lumber I have provided for the purpose of building a house on that farm. The residue to my five nephews and nieces, the children of my deceased brother Adam Duncan; after the death of my sister in law Mary Duncan, the revenues and remainder of my estate in the village of Cashtown to my said five nephews and nieces.
