Mariah Jane, 1 bed etc. To my niece Mary Gemmell $50; my niece Elizabeth Norris $75 & 1 bed; to Rachel Caroline Ebough my bureau. The land in my father's will called "Duncans Lodge" in York Co. PA, about 90 acres, to the children of my sister Mary wife of Vincent Norris in equal parts. That tombstones be put at head and foot of my grave at expense of Jane Norris, Ellen Norris and Rachel Norris, my three nieces. OH, W 1/2 NW 1/4 Sec. 30 T4N R17 containing 80 acres; and E 1/2 NE 1/4 Sec 25 T4N R16 (acres not given); Gilbert owes Duncan $400 in one year; Reg. in York Co. PA. Margin: Received $400 by Jesse Gilbert in York Co. PA.

      R-680/683: 8 July 1836, James Reesides of City and Co. of Philadelphia and wife Mary to Andrew Duncan of Borough and County of York, PA; that Hugh Denason late of Providence Twp., Bedford Co. PA, decd, died seized of sundry tracts of land and inter alia of the following: one tract in Providence Twp. beg. at a marked link by the new Road at the side of the Raystown Branch of the Juniatta River, then down the same ... then by Barrens, ... containing 50 acres and 142 perches, which the Proprietors of PA by deed poll 30 Sept. 1774 granted to James Martin in fee simple and which was seized and taken in execution by virtue of sundry writs issued out of the Court of Common Pleas of Bedford Co. returnable to July and October 1789 as the property of said James Martin at the suit of George Woods Esq. and sold by Arthur McGaughey Esq. then High Sheriff of Bedford Co. to Thomas Ruston Kennerly on 17 Oct. 1789 who by deed 22 Oct. 1790 conveyed to Benjamin Wallace? Esq. decd who by deed 7 April 1794 conveyed to William Wallace who by deed 19 August 1801 reconveyed to said Benjamin Wallace Esq. deceased; also part of a tract called "Enslows Heart" surveyed on 24 May 1788 per warrant in name of George Enslow Jr., said part containing 150 acres and 94 perches, beg. Crossings of the Juniatta, then up the Juniatta ..., to corner of Abraham Martins land, being the same tract which was seized and taken on execution and sold as the property of James Martin at the suit of Andrew Mann Esq. per executions from Court of Common Pleas of Bedford Co. returnable August 1799 and January 1800 to Henry Wertz Junr. then High Sheriff, who on 25 Feb. 1800 sold to David Bick? who with wife Caty sold 28 Nov. 1800 to said Benjamin Wallace Esq. decd; also a tract of land corner of land formerly of Francis Gibbs and Andrew Carson on E.side of Raystown Branch of Juniatta River where the Philadelphia and Pittsburg road crossed the same, then ... line of said Gibbs, then ... the road, containing about 9 acres which the said Frances Gibbs by deed 31 Jan. 1794 sold to said Benjamin Wallace Esq. decd; the three tracts being the same which William Wallace and Benjamin Wallace executors of the will of said Benjamin Wallace deceased (their father), by virtue of the will, by deed 22 June 1813 conveyed to Henry Woods Esq. and Dr. John Anderson who by deed 20 Sept. 1815? conveyed to said Hugh Denison decd. in fee simple. The 150 acre tract having a large three story stone tavern house with the improvements. ALSO a tract in Providence Twp. afsd on South East side of the Crossing of Juniatta called "St.Andrews" on the Bank of the Juniatta River, then by land formerly of Benjamin Martin, then ... vacant Hill, ... including the mouth of the first run above the crossing, containing 195 acres, being the same tract surveyed per warrant 8 May 1789 granted to Andrew Carson and for which on 7 Sept. 1789 PA issued a patent to said Andrew Carson who by indenture 1 April 1794 conveyed to James Thomson who by Deed Poll 16 May 1796 conveyed to Peter Margert? who with wife Christina by indenture 1 June 1801 conveyed to Israel Rue as whose property was seized per execution at suit of said Peter Margert and sold by Martin Ruley Esq. then High Sheriff of Bedford Co. by Deed Poll 5 Sept. 1805 to John Anderson who by indenture 20 Sept. 1815 with wife Mary conveyed to said Hugh Dennison decd. in fee simple. ALSO a tract in Providence Twp. corner of John Foore's? Junior's land, ... post between the field and the Big Run, then ... line of John Foore Junr., containing 50 acres, being part of a tract called "Hope" granted to John Foore? by PA by Patent 1 March 1805 and being same 50 acres which John Fone? and wife Kitty by indenture 8 Dec. 1809 conveyed to Jacob Fone? who with wife Susanna on 3 Sept. 1814 conveyed to Hugh Dennison decd. ALSO about 25 acres in Providence Twp adj. lands of John Fone?, Abraham Martin, and other lands late of Hugh Denison decd for which a warrant was granted 9 Dec. 1810 and to which James Martin by Deed Poll and wife Hannah conveyed on 3 Sept. 1814. WHEREAS said Hugh Denison decd. died intestate seized of the above several tracts of land in Providence Twp. which descended per law of Intestates to the widow and children (to wit: Bailley Denison, Jane Denison, Rebecca Denison, Horatio Denison, Mary Denison and Agnes Amanda Denison) of the said Hugh Denison decd; and the widow (formerly Mary Denison now Mary McMullin having married John McMullin) in connection with her husband and two of the above heirs, viz, Bartly Denison and Jane Denison, had attained their majorities, by deed 4 Feb. 1832 granted their right etc. (and also all the estate of the above named minor children whose releases are to be obtained as soon as they attain legal age) to the above tracts of land to James Reesides of City of Philadelphia, and whereas another of the heirs, Horation Denison, having since then attained his majority released on 19 April 1834 his interest to James Reesides, NOW this indenture that James Reesides and wife Mary for $9,000 to Andrew Duncan, all the above mentioned and described several tracts of land. /s/ Jas.       T-182/183: 15 Jan. 1839, Genl. Andrew Duncan of Borough of York in York Co. PA and wife Margaret, to William Compher Esq. of Bedford Co. PA, for $6,000, tracts land in Bedford Co., to wit: tract in Providence Twp., Bedford Co., by the new road at the side of the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River, containing 50 acres and 142? perches; also tract called "Enslows Heart" surveyed 24 May 1788 per warrant, and 9 acres, and 195 acres and 50 acres (descriptions not copied; see Deed R-680). /s/ Andrew Duncan, Margaret Duncan. PA, merchant; there was surveyed to Joseph Scott late of Cumberland Co., improvement and tract of land called Posey Hill on Tuscarora Creek in Cumberland Co. PA, 204 acres 8 perches; that Joseph Scott and wife Mary on 27 Aug. 1773 sold to said Samuel Davis; now Samuel Davis and wife Mary for £200 deed to Robert Duncan. /s/ Samuel Davis, Mary (X) Davis.       B-480: 23 Aug. 1765, James Duncan of Marteck Twp, Lancaster Co. PA, sick and weak of body; to wife Elizabeth £100 in cash and my roan horse with saddle and bridle with her choice of my ?? that is anyone that she pleaseth ... furniture, potts, she to have full power of her own house during her chast widowhood, also her own chist. To son John Duncan all plantation or tract of land whereon he now lives, it being in Shresberry Twp and York Co., with my bay mare known by the name of Blossom; to my son Robert Duncan that plantation or tract of land in Fain Twp which I bought of Frances? ?Hawthorne and also my young bay horse Sally? ... ; to my son James Duncan the plantation which I now live? on in Martek Twp in Lancaster Co, and £30 in cash to pay the proprietors for (the balance of the purchase money still due?), also my bay horse named Book and young sorrel mare with saddle and bridle, also two milck cows and six sheep and one bed and bedcloaths, household etc., my large Bible; to my son Andrew Duncan the plantation of land in Shrewsberry Twp, York Co., with a deed for the same, and my young chestnut coulered horse coalt with sadle & bridle and also one bed & bedcloaths; to my daughter Mary Duncan the wife of Thomas Brown 20 shillings two years after my decease; to Sarah Duncan my daughter, the wife of Robert Martin, 20 shillings two years after my decease; all my cattle and movebels to be sold, to be equally divided between my son John Duncan and my son Robert Duncan, each to have an equal share; toward building a meeting house in Chesnut Level the sum of £6 as I subscribed some time past. Appoint wife Elizabeth Duncan and son John Duncan executors. Wit. James Fagan, Elenor (@) Gill, Robert Gill. /s/ James (X) Duncan, Elizabeth (X) Duncan. PA, and wife Catharine to Andrew Duncan of York Co., Hopewell Twp., PA, grant to Joseph Carrol on warrant for 400 acres 16 Feb. 1785, land on Kings Creek, Hanover Twp., Washington Co. PA, tract called "Prospect" (MAD: meets and bounds not copied), containing 358 acres; suit of David Phillips, sheriff sold land to Andrew Duncan and Samuel Fulton of York Co. PA on 5 Oct. 1787 for £85, patent granted them 8 April 1791, now Fultons deed to Duncan for £142 11 sh. for one moiety or nearly the half part of foregoing containing 174 acres, adj. John Blazer, Daniel Swearingen, and Samuel Moore. Wit. Samuel Smith, Thos. Dicksan. (FHL film 862,508)
      1Y-610/612: 19 August 1811, Andrew Duncan of Hopewell Twp., York Co. PA, and wife Elizabeth, to Robert Duncan of Township, Co. & State afsd; whereas there was granted to Joseph Carrol by Hon. Proprietors of PA a warrant for 400 acres on 16 Feb. 1785 and there was surve[ye]d and laid off for the said Joseph Carrol on Kings Creek in Washington Co., Hannover Twp, state afsd, tract of land called Prospect, (meets and bounds not copied, no neighbors or waterways given) containing 358 acres; James Marshal high Sherif in Washington Co. PA by virtue of certain writs ... at the suit of a certain David Phillips for damages he had sustained by the above mentioned Joseph Carrol, the high sheriff exposed the land for sale on 5 Oct. 1787, Andrew Duncan & Samuel Fulton of York Co., for £85 bought the land, per deed 5 Oct. 1789, they applied for a patent which was granted 18 April 1791; WHEREAS said Samuel Fulton and wife Catherine by deed 3 Sept. 1793 sold to said Andrew Duncan party hereto, his part or moiety of the tract as was agreed between the parties by a dividing line run by William Smith at the request of said Duncan & Fulton; NOW for natural love I bear my son Robert Duncan & for other good causes moveing, we Andrew Duncan and wife Elizabeth for $1, grant etc. to Robert Duncan the one moiety or nearly the one half that I purchased of said Samuel Fulton, beg. on the original line next John Blasers, (meets & bounds not copied), containing 174 acres more or less, together with all the buildings, watercourses, etc. /s/ Andrew Duncan, Elizabeth Duncan. Wit. Ann Gorden wd, Martha (X) Idle. Ack. York Co. PA by Andrew Duncan Esqr and wife Elizabeth on 21 Aug. 1811. Rec. 29 May 1815. (FHL film 862,520)

PA, and wife Elizabeth, to Jonathan Duncan of Twp, Co. & State afsd, for $100, tract or parcel of land, being a part of that tract called Prospect on Kings Creek in Hanover Twp. in Washington Co. PA, beg. on the devision line of said tract, then ... by land of Levi Stephens, land of William Forsyth, (meets and bounds not copied), containing 214 acres more or less, being part of the tract held by a patent granted by PA 18 April 1791 to Andrew Duncan Esqr. as aforesaid and Samuel Fulton of Hanover Twp.
