Duncan of same, for $300, 31 acres in neighbourhood of Mesonger's and bounded on south by public road, west by Thomas Hall and James Chesser, north by Daniel Chesser, east by Meshack Fisher. Wit.       29-334: 21 Oct. 1837, John H. Duncan and wife Elizabeth to William A. Parker; Duncan owes Major Savage Sr. $635.85 by note, in order to secure payment, mortgage to William A. Parker their interest in land adj. James Nock, David Nottingham, George Mapp, Benjn. Floyd, being same land formerly belonging to William Garrison and being 1/4 part of said land in right of Elizabeth the wife of said John Duncan, the whole tract containing 380 acres by estimation; all signed; wit. VA; Duncan owes Snead $800, mortgage (trust) to Scarburgh, real and personal estate, right to land adj. James Nock, David Nottingham, George Mapps, Benjamin Floyd, being land whereof William Garrison the father of said Elizabeth died seized, 380 acres by estimation, and also personal property; all signed; wife Elizabeth examined.
      30-110: 14 Sept. 1839, Col. James Northam, Capt. Spencer Drummond and Edmund G. Godwin as trustees from James K. Duncan for the friendship Duncan has for children in neighborhood of Mesongoes, and for all professing Christians, gives them for school house and meeting or preaching house for any or all denominations of Christians, 35 square yards ... on the county road.
      30-232: Sale of James Brittingham property to satisfy James K. Duncan on 24 Sept. 1839; list includes yearling, cow, bed quilt, sheet, towells, etc.; purchaser was James K. Duncan, for $29.35; receipt by James (X) Brittingham, I certify that I have recd the above property and will return it when called for; wit. Thos. H. Parramore. Fletcher, Samuel Johnson; wife Pamelia examined.
      30-485: 31 Aug. 1840, William H. Cove (Core?) of Accomack Co. VA to Thomas Duncan of Northampton Co. VA and Arthur W. Downing of Accomack Co. VA; Downing is security for McCore for $225, for rent of land where he now lives for the present year, to secure Downing, Core deeds to Thos. Duncan in trust the crop of corn now growing where Core now lives, belonging to heirs of John Floyd decd; all signed; wit. H?.H?. Cutler, Edmd. Roberts, Thos. Scarborough.
      30-570: 11 Nov. 1840, John Massey and wife Patty, Outten Selby & wife Elizabeth, Isaac Selby and wife Hetty, James P. Selby and wife Matilda, and Elizabeth Selby, to James K. Duncan, all of Accomack Co. VA, for $1710, two parcels, one of 20 acres adj. O. Logan, Jno. Hiddeman?, Walter & Thos. Hocomb? (Slocomb?), heirs of Wm. H/Slocom; and the second being part of a larger tract of 160 acres (neighbors not copied), being the same land which John O. Selby purchased from John W.L.B. Burton, except the dower interest of Catharine Selby; all signed.
      30-580: 1 Dec. 1840, James K. Duncan of Accomack Co. VA; that Thomas R. Joynes and Thomas Fletcher are security for Duncan on bond for $500 to Mrs. Elizabeth F. Custis, trust deed to William Z. Joynes, the messuage etc. of land near the new church post office which Duncan purchased of heirs of John O. Selby decd.

Selby died siezed, known as New Church farm now in tenure and possession of said Duncan and Massey, they to pay Catharine yearly for her life $77.50; $50 by Duncan and $27.50 by Massey; wit. O.
