2 CONC ree daughters who after their marriages became Mrs. Melinda (Henry) Beeson Mrs Christina (SB
2 CONC ) Campbell and Mrs Ellen Mathews. The Beebe party had combined with that of the Beesons Nobl
2 CONC es and Campbells for a safe journey. Separating in Calif. Laff and Jeff took up land near San
2 CONC ta Barbara. David Frank Beebe continued on across Sonoma Co to the Elk Creek area of the nor
2 CONC th coast. A story about this last leg of his journey tells that he had to give the Indian
2 CONC s a team of his horses for their help in getting his wagons across Mallo Pass as this involve
2 CONC d taking the wagons apart and carrying all the equipment and goods across the canyon. David'
2 CONC s home is said to have been the first built in what became Point Arena. "Blind Tom" visite
2 CONC d amoung the scattered relatives bringing news of the others for so long that even their gra
2 CONC ndchildren knew him. His sisters Mrs. Henry Beeson and S.B. Campbell lived at Point Arena
2 CONT the Campbells having the first wharf there. Francis (Frank) Marion Beebe son of David f. Be
2 CONC ebe was about 18 yrs old when the westward journey was made. This life appealed to him so mu
2 CONC ch that he led other parties out to Calif. for several years before settling on the coast wit
2 CONC h a Nobles girl as his wife. He occupied a ranch his father bought stretching from Point Ar
2 CONC ena almost to Schooner Gulch.

2 CONC s among the grantees and planters of New London ct.In the summer of 1676 Ensign John Beebe o
2 CONC n New London with Captain george Denison was with a company which was raised in New London co
2 CONC unty for the Indain War. There was once a dispute between the new London and Lyne people ove
2 CONC r the right to mow grass on debatable land When the Lyme people came with a constable who beg
2 CONC an to read a warrant for the apprehension of another ensign Sargeant Beebe interruped him cry
2 CONC ing "we care not a straw for your paper" There was a struggle between the two parties which d
2 CONC id not result seriously to either side. In 1671-2 he was brought befor the court with many o
2 CONC thers in New London for an attempt to drive Mr. Matthew Griswold and Lieut.William Waller b
2 CONC y violence off their lands resistance to authority and assault" very likely he had been fo
2 CONC r some time on the plantation of New London in the service of John Winthrop the founder. I
2 CONC n 1707 he deeded 31 acres to his son Benjamin. This deed was recorded 28 April 1714
2 CONT but he was probably dead at that time.He was called a "leather Dresser" In a deed dated 1660
2 CONC . In 1675 he was appointed ensign by the general ciurt.Duiring King Philp's War in june 167
2 CONC 6 he went on several expeditions against the Indians to Rhode Island Taunton and beyond Westf
2 CONC ield Mass on the way to Albany. On one of these expeditions the companybascended the Connect
2 CONC icut river to northampton where thay joined Major Talcot with supplies of witch the army wa
2 CONC s in urgent need.in 1690 he was commissioned a lieutenant.

1 NOTE Thomas was made a freeman of the Colony in 1666 and was of a committee of seven to fotify Ne

2 CONC ppearance in court on the frist thursday in july to answer the complaint of John Lewis regard

2 CONC t for him by Mouls and coit circa 1662. In 1669 he was made a freeman and in 1673cwas appoint
2 CONC ed a jury man for the year.and again in 1677. In 1675 jun 4 he was confirmed as Sergeant of t
2 CONC he trainband at New London with his brother Samuel Beebe and again in 1678. In 1675 when th
2 CONC e Indians were attacking and burning several viages in and around New London he was one of s
2 CONC even men appointed to set up fortifications against them. He also served in the King Phillip
2 CONC s Was with the rank of Sergeant. In Feb of 1677/8 he was a part of a building committee set u
2 CONC p to build anew meeting house at the site of the old one. on 19 Nov 1683 he was part of a com
2 CONC mittee to seek a replacement minister who had passed away. In 1690 he was assigned the job o
2 CONC f finishing the interior of the new meeting house. The same year he succeeded his brother Jo
2 CONC hn Beebe as Sergeant of the trainband. He was prominent in church affairs. In addition to hi
2 CONC s own childern he raise the two sons of Millicent from her previous marriage.

2 CONC ous campaigns in the King Phillip's war at one time he was in command of seven men sent to Mo
2 CONC ntauk Point to tend a warning against a possible French attack.on anouther occasion the Gener
2 CONC al Assembly directed that he and certain others be allowed to take to themselvessome guns th
2 CONC at thay had in their possession as a part of wages owing to them for his services in the wa
2 CONC r he was awarded a land grant. Nathaniel settled in Stonington Ct.His land was absorbed in th
2 CONC e large estates of his neighbor the Denisons. In the will of William Denison ( 1715) he dispo
2 CONC ses of the Beebe land but adds" I order my executors to take a special care of Mr. Nathanie
2 CONC l Beeby during his life and give him a Christian burial at his death" His gravestone is nea
2 CONC r the Denisons and states that he died 17 dec 1724 age 93.there is no record that he ever mar
