TEXAS
BACKGROUND for WILLIAMSON/BEEBE:
3gfather Chauncey Williamson stayed in Iowa so never made it to Oklahoma. He was from New York, lived his teens in Ohio the around 1850 moved to Shelby (and Audubon) Counties of Iowa where he lived out his life.
His daughter 2gmother Mary Elizabeth Williamson married 2gfather Cornelius Alvero Beebe in Iowa and raised four children in Missouri and Iowa. Unknown where Cornelius died. Elizabeth died around 1946-1948 in Texas. NOTE: Why did they move to Texas?
Her daughter, grandmother Floy Mabel Beebe was born in Missouri, moved as a child to Gainesville Texas where in ca 19075 she married Henry Pruitt. Their four children were born in Oklahoma, the oldest Velma Gladys Pruitt Kelly was my mother who married Oscar Kelly 1933 in Benton or Madison County, Arkansas. We know Henry moved his family to Oklahoma for construction work.
Information wanted:
How and why did the Pruitt family move to Arkansas around 1930?.
Why did the Pruitts from Kentucky move to Gainsville, TX, a notably rough town.
Read the Bio of Chauncey Williamson including information on Beebe.
NOTE from admin: BEEBE/PRUITT families joined with the marriage of my grandmother Floy Beebe with Henry Pruitt in Gainesville, Texas about 1906. My mother, Gladys b 1908 was the first of four children, Gladys, Cleo, Cornelius and Mollie.
Mother Velma Gladys Pruitt Kelly born December 25, 1908 lived until 1998. Her younger siblings all preceded her in death.
Our Beebe line came from New York, to Ohio, to Iowa, to Missouri, to North Texas (near Oklahoma) about 1900.

I am researching my Pruitt Line. My Pruitt's traveled throughout Texas, LA,
OK, and AR.
My grandfather was Stinson Carroll Pruitt/Pruett, My great great grandfather
was James William "Jim or JW" Pruitt. I have all of Jim's brother's and

Are you related in any way to the Pruitt's of Virginia and then
Kentucky?
My husband's ancestor was Nancy PRUITT who married Samuel LATTIMER in
1831.
Nancy's parents are Gholson PREWITT b 1787 in Mercer Co. KY and Frances
(Fanny) LEACHMAN
Gholson's parents are Anthony PREWITT b 1763 Lunenburg Co., VA and
Susanna
GHOLSON born about 1761 Spotsylvania, VA.
Does any of this match up with anyone???
Thank you
Gayle
