My Winter Project
Complete Refurbish & Customizing
to a Harley wannabe "Rat Bike"
Bryan Keddy - Halifax, N.S.
I bought the bike from it's original owner Roger Munro in Dartmouth,
N.S.
He delivered it on November 7th, 2004...
Mechanically - it needs a new alternator (stator) -
otherwise it's in good shape with 50,832 km.
November 11th, I had it basically stripped down,
By Nov. 14th I had the motor out and partially apart
(rear cover, water pump & alternator)
Nov. 20th - I sold the Shoei Saddle Bags to Brent Evered (N.B.)
and bought 2 rear signals from him....
Nov. 27th I won the bid on e-bay for this 1980 Custom Gas Tank
-
to replace the standard one - though will require some tweeking to
fit the '78 frame,
from which I cut off the two front mounts and
filled in the front tunnel bolting directly on the top of the main
frame,
the rear mount and coils remained as in the standard...
As you can see the original standard tank was very rusty inside ...
Dec. 3rd - I registered the bike (sales tax) at Motor Vehicles.
Dec. 17th - Installed new rear brake shoes.
Jan. 28th - Received new Electrex Stator from Murph's in Kentucky.

Feb. 21st - I won the bid on E-bay for these 2003 H.D. Ultra
Mufflers ...
again to replace the Honda stock ones, as the right muffler was completely
rusted through ...
March 7th - I won the bid on E-bay for these (2) Lucas SS700
headlight buckets ...
the one on the left SS700P is from a 1973 Triumph, the one on the right
SS700 from a 50's or 60's Triumph ...
March 11th - I won the bid on E-bay for Custom Pull Back Handlebars
&
purchased a set of 10" overextended cables ....
March 20th - I won the bid on E-bay for a CX500 wiring harness
-
which will be very useful with all the electrical changes ...
March 26th - I won the bid on E-bay for a Harley Horn & Chrome
Cover ...
