National Archives and Records Administration Genealogy Page
NARA's genealogy page contains a link to NAIL -- their search engine which contains information relating to Ft. Smith, Arkansas criminal records, the Dawes Rolls, and the Rough Riders, among other data -- indices to all available film, and a Soundex converter. Also contains addresses and hours of regional locations.
Obituary Daily Times Search
Volunteers transcribe local newspaper obituaries. If you are going to use, please volunteer.

There is so much information at this sight related to United States and Canadian genealogy research, it is impossible to summarize it all here. There are databases containing indices relating to various kinds of records, as well as a database which can be searched by surname and to which you can submit the surnames, dates and locations of the ancestors you are researching so that others can make contact with you.

USGenWeb Project
A major goal of this project is to make public records accessible via the Internet. All states have pages--links to individual counties which each contain queries (post your own). Both state and county pages contain links to various public records posted thus far. Access archives from this link for other documents available. Also available and increasing in number are pages dedicated to specific countries under the title "WorldGenWeb." New information is constantly being added.
