Tuesday, Sept 1

Edith here. I helped with work and then boys & I went to town. Drs. weren't there. Got kerosene & came home. Pokie C. here at noon & Edith went home with them. Edith had to register today. I went in to town in pm. & got some groceries & took my library books back. Saw Edith & Helen at school house. Got new ink for pen. Real cool at nite. Cleaned the upstairs. We 3 kids out in car at nite playing. Slept up stairs. Rained real good at night.

Wednesday, Sept 2

Nice cool day after rain. Mom & I did work alone. Edith didn't come. Cleaned kitchen. My leg hurt. Laid down awhile. Edith Rabuck called. In pm. went over to Lunds'. Curled Helen J., Edith's, Ernas & Mrs. Lunds's heads. Edith ironed (scorched) Dad's pants & shirts. Edith & Helen road {sic} to the corner with me. “Halibut you tell that to all the girl.” “ Amsterdam tired of that song.” Nice and cool at night. Listened to Gracie Allen, and Town Hall & read. Listened to football game between the “All Stars” and “Detroit Lions.” 7-7. Surely was good.
