Bill's dad, Pete (Leverne Smith) is behind the center, Wesley Thomas (who in Nancy's uncle, brother of Ruth, Nancy's mother) in the picture on the left.

In the right picture in addition to Ruth Thomas (Mrs. Glenn Bolger, Nancy's mom) are Marion Thomas, Marjorie Thomas, Helen Thomas, first cousins of Ruth and Wesley, plus Dorothy Thomas, younger sister of Ruth and Wesley, Maxine Smith and Bethene Smith, sisters of Pete Smith (therefore, Bill's aunts) and Fern Brown, a first cousin of Glenn Bolger.

Nancy attended the Star School from kindergarten in 1944 through 6th grade when the school closed in 1951 (actual last year of school before she went to Coon Rapids to school for 7th grade.
