Note: Floyd and Evelyn Platt Harrelson's wedding day (as told by (as told by Margie Prine - a good friend of Evelyn): Eddie Theodocia Wilson Platt (Evelyn's mother) was attending a political rally downtown Kathleen, Shultz speaking for governor. Floyd was working at the Carpenters Home. Evelyn told her mom she was going off with Margie Prine. While at the political rally, Eddie saw Margie Prine's mother and asked her where Margie and Evelyn. Margie's mom told her that Margie had left earlier that day to go to Plant City and did not go with Evelyn. Eddie then realized that she had snuck off to get married to Floyd. Thelma Boyd went with Evelyn to the wedding. The stayed that night in the house with some people that they later bought the same house.

Proof that Frances L. Lanier Wilson is the Daughter of James S. Lanier

e-mail from Pola Lanier Kelly (April 28, 1998)
This article was in "Plant City Courier" Thursday, Jan 13, 1994:

A beautiful religious romance which had its origin on Sat before the
third Sun in Jan 1866 in Old Salem Meeting house near Cork Academy, has
gradually unfolded during the intervening years, Until next Sun the
First Batist congregation of Plant City will observe its seventy-eighth
anniversary.
After religious services suitable to the occasion, a Church Covenant
was adopted and signed by the following seventeen members who
constituted the charter membership: S.B. Todd, William Platt, John
Lanier, Thomas W. Wilder, James Lanier, Hardy Colllins, Issac M. Lanier,
Sarah Wilder, Margaret B. Lanier, Mary Nobles, Matilda Platt, Sara J.
Platt, Evalina M. Lanier, Martha Todd, A.C. Todd, Sarah G. Wilder and
Martha L. Lanier. This new organization selected "Shiloh" for its
maiden name, which later was changed to First Baptist Church when the
church was moved to Plant City. end of quote
I also understand there is a bronze plaque hanging in the First Baptist
Church with these names on it. If you check any of this out, or sort
any of this out, please let me know. I think it is very interesting.

However, William married third wife Eliza S. Thomas, March 28, 1874 Hillsborough Co., Florida. The number of years in this article is probably just incorrect.)
