Hi Chris,
Okay, you've convinced me - I want to order the Lanier book, please tell
me how. Have never been to Bartow but Doris Lewis would know if they
have the book there. I'll e-mail her and ask. Our trip to Bartow has
been temporarily cancelled as her husband, Milton, almost cut three
fingers off last week, spent three days in the hospital and underwent
twelve hours of surgery.
Next, are you related to Ashley Robt. "Ash" Tanner b. 1901 d. 1966, m.
Ruby Harrelson and had Ashley Earlo Tanner b. 1927 and m. Maxine Jean
Yates? Maxine is my 2nd cousin and they live in St. Cloud.
About the Rushings in Pleasant Hill Cemetery:
1. Margaret "Maggie" Rushing Bronson b. ? d. 1934 m. James Alfred
Bronson is the only one I'm pretty sure of.
There are no Rushings listed there. The other Rushing women I have in
my data base came from you but I haven't been able to determine if any
are in Pleasant Hill:
2. Martha Rushing b. ? d. ? m. Robt. Albert Lanier b. 1840 d. ?. There
is a Martha Z. Lanier buried there but the tombstone only reads "Age 45"
, looks like several empty spaces on one side of her and on the other
side is Edward Lanier and Jasper Lanier, no dates for either one.
3. Mary Bonita Rushing b. ? d. ? m. John Gaines Lanier b. 1838 d. 1880.
There's a Mary Etta, Mary infant, Mary L. and a Mary Etta Lanier there
but I'm sure none of these are Mary Bonita.
4. Nancy Winniford Rushing b. ? d. ? m. John W. Lanier b. 1830 d. 1908.
There is a Nancy Lanier there but tombstone only reads "Age 66".
