I found your Underwood Pedigree file at Ancestry.com. I am related to Mary Louise Carroll who married William Underwood. Mary Louise Carroll was my great great grandfather Daniel Carroll's sister. Their parents are Daniel Carroll and Mary Magdalene Setzer married in Macon County, North Carolina in 1838.
If you want more information on the Carrolls, just let me know.
Sincerely,
Cindy (Carroll) McAlister

Christopher,
Nice to hear from you! I have actually been researching more through the
Shell line, but do have some info on Manerva. I have a photograph taken
of them when they are elderly. I also spent time last weekend in Blue
Ridge, GA and spoke with the granddaughter that lived with them until
their deaths. Although she is well into her 90's she has a relatively
clear mind and some good memories of them. I visited the house David
built for Manerva in the 1890's and that they lived in until their
deaths and visited their graves. Amazingly the house is still in great
shape and is still being lived in. What is your connection with them?
They are my father's grandparents. What part of the country do you live
in? Just asking so I don't sound like an idiot offering to help with
some research if you live closer to resources than I do. Do you have
anything on David's folk's? They appear to have been rather elusive.
Kathleen
