I am sorry to be so late responding to your message. We have had
company, and spent time out of town.

I would really appreciate any Gilley information. I got Lucy Gilley's
name from a family member who also gave the place of her marriage. I
found Henry County, VA marriage records and found her marriage record,
plus other Gilley names I am unfamiliar with. I got the dates of her
birth and death from her tombstone in the Killeen Cemetery in Killeen,
Texas. She had a son born in Warren County, TN (taken from his tombstone
in Killeen), lived in Cannon County, and later in Lawrence County, TN.
Between the 1860 and 1870 census she moved to Fayette County, TX, and
when filing for a pension for her husband's service in the War of 1812
was living back in Warren County, TN about 1880. She was buried in
Coryell County, Texas, so I can only assume she died there at a son's
home. I told you erroneously she lived in Wayne County; she had a son
there. William Bundrant, her son, married Julia Ann Gilley, the daughter
of George and Nancy Gilley, and lived in Wayne County. I have guessed
they were probably cousins. I found a little information about the
Gilley family in Cannon County history. Since Lucy named a son Daniel
Gilley Bundrant I had thought her father might be a Daniel Gilley. The
History of Woodbury and Cannon County, TN, mentions Jesse Gilley died in
1856. That was the only information I had about a Jesse.

I have never heard of Zachariah Bush. The only Gilley/Bush connection I
have found is in the marriage records of Cannon County, which shows
J.R.Y. Gilley married Sarah Bush in 1860.

The Gilley/Bundrant family is my husband's family. His grandmother was
Lucy's granddaughter Martha Mihallie Bundrant, who married Robert Emery
Willess. I keep telling him he is kin to Mickey Gilley, the singer,
because Mickey's mouth is so much like one of Hallie Bundrant's sons.
Actually I have no knowledge of any of the Gilley family, so appreciate
all the help I can get.

Dear Christopher
Wakley Doyal forwarded to me your recent emails....I have worked on
the family for over 20 years and am interested also in trading
information, however I am in Scotland working on my PhD until Sept
when I return to the States to finish up...
I also descend from Edward Gilley b ca 1789 Va who married Mary
Collins in Lee Co, Va and moved to warren and cannon counties, Tenn.
(through their dau Emily Gilley Wilsher).
Could you share with me the person who shared with you that Edward
was the son of Charles?
I would also appreciate having your regular mail address, as I do
not want to lose touch with others tracing these lines.
My US address is David Travillion Bunton
613 South Commerce Ave
Russellville, AR 72801
I have much information from courthouses, interviews, and original
source documents that I know many Gilley researchers would like to
have and will be glad to share....

Christopher
The best way to share info is probably snail mail, since I dont
have gedcom, etc facilities here. I can accept Word document
attachments however.
I will return to Arkansas in Sept, and will sort through my
correspondence...I already have several Gilley letters there waiting
and I plan to copy my records based on the number of letters there.
So I could share my things when I return.
Is that ok to send your things via regular mail? Possibly could
you send me a brief, name-date-place on your line from Charles
grandchild backwards....
Ive recently run on to other Gilley names in Lee Co, Va 1810 tax
records such as Francis and John. My Edward married there just a few
years later to a Collins....they are also listed.
Thanks, David Travillion Bunton

PS who was your secondhand source concerning Charles, etc?
