Chris Tanner,
My reply to your e-mail got a little out of sequence. I just today read your 10/8 and 10/16 replies.
Thankyou for the information. I'll tell you my wife's story as we know it.
Joyce Long gave birth to my wife "April" on April 27, 1972 at Lakeland General.
She was not married and no father was listed on the birth certificate. Her family remembers the father as being Ronnie Platt from Kathleen. He worked for the railroad.
We are told Ronnie came to see April when she was a newborn. No further visits were remembered by the family. Joyce Long passed away Feb.2 1988, long before my wife's search began so we lost a big source of information.
My first call to him, my first question was "did you ever work for the railroad" he said "no. You must have the wrong Ronnie Platt". I did not ask any more questions.
We have since confirmed that this Ronnie Platt does indeed work for the railroad. He lied.
We have a neighbor who happens to work with him and asked him if he could be my wife's father. He denied. Our neighbor gave us a picture of him. There is a strong resemblance.
We want absolutely nothing from this man. Just the knowledge that he is my wife's father is enough. Maybe some of the cousins can be of help. Thanks again for all your effort.
Chris and April Pearson
