Note: Allan Fleming Copeland was born March 15, 1917 in Odum, Georgia and was the son of George Riley Copeland and Annie Laura Mattox. He attended schools in Odum and Jesup, Georgia. From 1935-1939 Allan drove a truck and hauled produce. He married Mary Thornton Vernon, daughter of Frank Willard Vernon and Lila Mary Tanner on June 18, 1939 at Hillsboro Methodist Church, Harney, Florida. The couple met when Allan delivered a load of produce to the Vernon farm near Harney.
Mr. and Mrs. Copeland lived in Odum, Ga. about six months and then moved to Tampa, Florida. Mr. Copeland
was employed at Sunnybrook Dairy from 1940-1946. He then began a dairy business of his own. The Copeland's moved to Cleveland, Charlotte County, Florida in 1952 and to Arcadia, Desoto County, Florida in 1956, expanding his business each time they moved. Mrs. Copeland operated a children's nursury in her home for many years in Arcadia. Both Mr. and Mrs. Copeland retired in 1974. In later years, the Copeland's operated a Bed and Breakfast in their home. Mrs. Copeland still has some guests each winter.
Mr. Copeland united with Friendship Baptist Church as a boy. He transferred by letter to Hillsboro Methodist Church where his wife was already a member. The family transferred membership to Cleveland Methodist Church on moving there and to Trinity Methodist Church following the move to Arcadia. Mr. Copeland and his wife served on the board and taught Sunday School Classes for many years. He was a member of the United Methodist Men's Club. Mrs. Copeland belongs to the United Methodist Women's Group and is an active worker on all projects under taken. She was instumental in organizing the churches' annual Jumble Sale.
Mr. Copeland was a member of Arcadia Kiwanis Club, and Desoto County Farm Bureau and was a past president of the local group. He was a member of the Florida Dairy Association and served as a State Director. He served one term on the Arcadia City Council. Mrs. Copeland is a member of the Desoto Memorial Hospital Pink Ladies and has given countless hours volunteering her time and in making jelly and pillows to sell in the gift shop. The Copeland's delivered Meals on Wheels for several years.
Mr. Copeland died of Congestive Heart Failure on January 5, 1997. After cremation, a Memorial Service was held on January 10, 1997 at the Trinity United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Copeland resides at 1115 East Cypress Street, Arcadia, Florida, 34266. She is active at church and often takes extended trips to visit with children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Note: Allan Gilbert Copeland was born in Tampa, Florida on February 2, 1941, the son of Allan Fleming Copeland and Mary Thornton Vernon. His early years were spent on the family farm at Harney, a rural Hillsborough County community. The family moved to Punta Gorda, Florida in 1952 and to Arcadia, Florida in 1956. Allan played
High School Football and Baseball 1954-1959. He graduated from DeSoto County High School on June 5, 1959.
Allan enlisted in the Navy on June 17, 1959 . He spent the next twenty years in the Navy and served at bases in Jacksonville, Key West, and San Diego and served tours on various aircraft carriers . Allan retired on April 15, 1978.
Allan then went to work for Kay and Associates and worked one year in Maryland and spent a year in Kuwaiit. Afer returning from Kuwaiit he went to work for Gulf Stream Aerospace, Savannah, Georgia, where he is presently employed.
Allan married Grace Hickman, daughter of Lloyd Hickman and Minnie Lee Womble in Fort Myers, Florida on
January 30, 1960. Grace was born August 21, 1940 in Ft. Myers, Florida. They have three children, Dwayne Allan, who resides in Los Angelas, California, and works in Marketing, Carla Rene'e, who is employed at A T and T and resides in Jacksonville, Florida, and Karen Jean who resides with her family in Middleburg, Florida. Karen was previously married to Gregory Casselman and has three children, Gregory, Jr., Jacob, and Shellie. Allan and Grace were divorced in 1975. Grace resides in Jacksonville, Florida.
Allan married Nancy Joan Stacy Levine, born May 3, 1944 in Amhurst, Massachusetts, daughter of George Stacy and Eugenie Martin on February 13, 1975. Nancy has two children, Debra Lynn, and Pamela Ann, daughters of Peter Levine. Debra is married to Michael Labiche and has daughters Camille and Abigail. Debbie works in the Neo-Natal ICU at Crawford Long Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. They reside in Atlanta, Georgia.
Pam married Robert Jackson in November 1997. Robert was bornm in Maryland. He is employed as an auto mechanic and Pam is employed by AAA Auto Club. They reside in Savannah, Georgia.
Allan was baptized at about age 11 at Hillsboro United Methodist Church. He and wife, Nancy, are members
of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Savannah, Georgia. Allan is active in the Cabrini Men's Club and Nancy
serves on the Social Committee helping to Co-ordinate church events.
Allan is a member of Zurrebble Masonic Lodge, Savannah, Georgia. He also belongs to the Savannah area Florida Gator Club in which he is presently serving as President.

Earle married Frances Charlotte Evans , daughter of Rivers Bufford Evans and Bernice Genelle Todd, on October 9, 1964, in San Diego, California. Earle and Charlotte have two children.
Amy Cherie,'was born on January 20, 1968 in Sarasota, Florida. She married Paul Mosley on May 27, 1979. Paul son of Suvanice Jackson Mosley and Cora Faye Luke, was born on November 11, 1965. Amy graduated from Jacksonville University, Jacksonville, Florida in 1989 and is employed by AT&T. Paul graduated from the University of North Florida in 1994. He is employed in the library at the University of North Florida. Amy and Paul reside in Jacksonville, Florida.
Derek Earle was born on February 8, 1973 in Sarasota, Florida. He graduated from Jacksonville University in 1996 and is employed by the Prudential Insurance Company. Derek also resides in Jacksonville. Earle and Charlotte were divorced in 1987. Charlotte is now married to Bruce Robbins and resides in Jacksonville, Florida.
Earle married Patricia Lucille Worthington Hahn, born June 6, 1955 on January 16, 1988 in Folly Beach, South Carolina. Patty is the daughter of Lawrence and Peggy Worthington. Terry Vincent Broughton was born in Lake City, Florida on December 12, 1947, son ofCharlesWaldronBroughton and Laura Mae Dorough. He graduated from Suwannee High School in 1965. Terry married Sandra Faye Copeland, daughter of Allan F. Copeland and Mary T. Vernon , on August 24, 1968 at Trinity Methodist Church, Arcadia, Florida. Sandra was born on September 13, 1947 in Tampa, Florida.
Sandra graduated from DeSoto County High School, Arcadia, Florida in 1965. Both Sandra and Terry graduated from Florida State University in 1969. Terry entered the United States Coastguard in 1969. After completing Officer's Training he was stationed in Dubuque, Iowa until 1973. The Broughton's then moved to Plant City, Florida where Terry was employed by Metropolitan Insurance Company .During 1977-78 Terry was Legislative Aide to State Representative James Redmond.
Terry and Sandra lived in Gainesville, Florida, 1978-1980 where Sandra began working for Barnett Bank and Terry attended The University of Florida where he received his Law Degree in 1980. They then moved to Ft. Myers, Florida where Terry began to practice law and Sandra advanced to Vice President with Barnett Bank.
Sandra and Terry both united with the United Methodist Church as young people and in fact met while
attending The United Methodist Youth Camp about their Sophomore year in high school. They transferred membership to churches in the community each time they moved. Terry and Sandra transferred membership to First United Methodist Church in Ft. Myers about 1980 . Sandra served on the Board of Trustees. Sandra was a founder of the Academic Booster Club at Ft. Myers High School.
Sandra died of cancer on September 8, 1993 . After cremation, a Memorial Service was held at First United Methodist Church in Ft. Myers. Donations were made to the Cancer Center in Houston, Texas in her memory.
Terry presently practices law in Ft. Myers and resides in, Bonita Springs, Florida. The couple's son, Travis, who was born on November 21, 1972 in Dubuque, Iowas, graduated from the University of Florida. He worked and resided in Boston for several years. Travis has recently taken a position with a company in Portland, Oregon. Daughter, Cara, was born on August 14, 1974 in Plant city, Florida. She graduated from Florida Southern College in May 1995. After graduation Cara worked for the American Red Cross in Charlotte, North Caroliana. Cara then was given a Grant for Graduate work to a college in England to continue her studies for the 1997-98 school term. She has recently returned home and plans to work in Washington, DC.
